I always thought she was funny in Buffy, but in Angel she eventually became my favourite character on the show, up until she slept with Conner. :eek2:

Even if they were to turn her pregnant and/or evil in S4 they could've done it in a much better way, S4 just seems like such a mess compared to the other seasons because of the Cordy/Jasmine arc.

Just my opinion, what do you guys think?

I know you're not alone from other posts I've seen but I personally loved the Jasmine twist. . When she suddenly stabs Lila in the neck I was like OMG WTF???!! I love twists like that.

I'm fairly certain quite a large group of fans disliked the direction they took Cordelia. They absolutely destroyed one of the best female characters in the Buffyverse.

Poor Angel

I felt really bad for Angel when he witnessed Connor and Cordelia in bed, Angel did so much for Cordelia and was so patient with her. Angel has done so much good to others he deserves happiness and needs to get over Buffy at some point and move on with his love life.

Then again Cordelia was possessed and wasn't herself but when she did appear in S5 she was her old self again and gave Angel the real kiss that he always deserved from her.

I didn't hate season 4 Cordelia. I hated that she didn't come back in season 5 to deal with the aftermath. As much as I love "You're Welcome" I still think her character could have added a lot to the final season, and she could have had an interesting arc

I didn't like season 4 Cordy but to be honest I stopped liking Cordelia about half way through season 3. I just felt that she had become too smug. Sure she wasn't self-centred and oblivious to everyone else's feelings like she used to be but why did she keep saying things like "hey Cordelia here" like how could anyone doubt her observant and caring nature? She was behaving like she had always been caring and self-sacrificing.

I just think her character should have been more humble after all those years of being queen b.

As for her and Angel developing feelings for each other? That's just a no from me.

I feel like her character when in all sorts of bad directions.
I would have loved her and Groo to have stayed a couple and for her and Angel to have remained best friends. The Conner thing was just weird and wrong. If they had to write her out I would have liked her to have been taken down by Jasmine but not possessed.

That would have made a very different season 3 and 4!

But that's not exactly Cordelia, though, is it? In s2, she became a lot more caring and open and observant of others, she matured. But up until s4, she was always the same Cordelia. She spoke what was on her mind, and she knew she was Queen C, even though she matured. There's never really been a humbleness to her, and that's what makes her Cordy. Even her last line "Oh, and you're welcome." She knew she was needed and what she was doing was important. And she wasn't humble about it.

They absolutely destroyed her character. Season 4 was a bit of a train wreck for me in general, for the most part (save for quite a few extremely brilliant episodes). Collectively, though, I was unimpressed. Definitely my least favorite season of the Buffyverse altogether. Mostly because of what they did with Cordelia. And I've read the different reasons/theories why it kind of fell apart, but still, I was disappointed nonetheless.

I enjoy season 4 , even for all its faults and I think it would have been cool if Joss had gone with what he orginally had planned for Cordy , I don't get how Angelus was cruical to Jasmines plan though, that is never explained 🙁 . But overall it is a pretty cool season

Though I am only at the beginning of the season I am not too thrilled with any of it which heavies my heart as I was really loving this series even a bit more than Buffy. It begun in season 3 interestingly with though not related to the return of Gru. I was not a fan of the whole 'The Father Will Kill the Son' arc, particularly how it tore Wesley from the Angel Investigations family and send him on such a dark path of betrayal. While he had been noble to make the baby's protection a priority he had no right to keep that prophecy to himself or consort with the enemy behind the Angel family's backs. That's serious information to keep from the said father of the child, come on Wes haven't you ever read Oedipus!? The whole point of that myth is that the 'he will kill his father and marry his mother' prophecy came true because he didn't know who they were! Wes is now directly responsible for Connor being raised as practically a male slayer.

As for Cordy, from the moment she returns from her vacation with Gru her character had gone downhill right down to her new hairstyle which I am not a fan of. It very much annoys me that RIGHT when she and Angel are going to meet and confess their love for each other they get torn not only away from each other but from Angel Investigations. What the **** was wrong with her, she didn't learn her lesson last time she chose another life over Angel Investigations!? What happened to confessing her love? Way to totally waste Gru's noble sacrifice. Then they return her with absolutely no memory! That's a pisser! Now that right there is where I left off so I have yet to find out but I certainly hope they explain this and that she regains her memory. Spoil me, please say she does and that she and Angel finally get together! If they don't it's pretty stupid to straightforward lead to it throughout almost the entirety of season 3 and the beginning of season 4!

According to my mom (she inquired to me about my progress earlier this evening with both series so we discussed it briefly) it gets even worse! XP. I totally love Angel as a character so this really sucks!

What is this original plan?

Charisma Carpenter hated Cordy in AS4.

HAHAHAHAHA! XD

UPDATE: Last night I marathoned a chunk of season 4 and have been beyond mind****ed!

Cordelia is being destroyed, nothing of her character has made a shred of sense the entire season but I hope it will. Not that I expect the explanation to make anything better. Her and Connor are completely sick! It's gotten to the point where I literally can not watch them kiss, it's so disgusting that I have to shut my eyes. I don't expect to ever be able to comprehend how she just ditched Angel while he was waiting for her to tell him the most important thing in the universe which has been hinted at for a long time, that she was in love with him for the higher being gig. To even think about touching his kid, hell spawn or not is beyond wrong in so many ways and now she's freaking pregnant with his grandkid! I'm wondering if the thing inside her is what turned her evil, or rather I am hoping it! I just can't believe she'd just turn on Angel Investigations like that!
It's almost fact that Angel and Cordelia belong together, even more so than he and Buffy. They'd had such a beautiful bond and finally after all the denial and conflict they managed give into each other and have some really hot sex. You can tell in David's performance there how long Angel had been waiting for that moment. Oh but wait...we've been punked! It was all a fantasy from which the lovely Angelus hatched! Great job with that by the way Wesley! That pissed me off but I will give it one thing, the concept that a true moment of happiness in his head could apply to the terms of the curse and how that fantasy was also in a way a 'how it should have been' scenario was very interesting.
Apart from Cordelia it really hasn't been too terrible. Angelus has been very well done here, the whole time he was in that cage messing with the minds of Angel Investigations had a very Hannibal feel. I do love how twisted and deceiving Angelus is. His impression of Angel when they used that spell to try to re-ensoul him was amazing. I had a bit of trouble deciding but when his eyes didn't light up to show his soul returning and he had immediate memory of everything he'd just experienced as Angelus I could feel it was a phony and I am sure it was what caused Lorne to get a false reading of him. Cordy's visions were once manipulated why can't Lorne's be?

I am anxious to see how it all turns out, how will Angel be recovered, why the hell is Cordy evil and will they get together like they are supposed to!? And what will be the deal with this disgusting Condelia baby!?
