Was Anyone Else Hoping That....

Wesley still had a crush on Cordelia? When he came into Angel in Season 1, I thought that he would be gushing over Cordy, and the fact that he wasn't made me a bit disappointed 🙁 So, yes, did you hope that Wes would have a crush on Cordy, at least in Season 1. I remember him being a BIT awkward with Cordy in "Parting Gifts" and "Expecting", but I wanted more. I wanted complete awkwardness like in Season 3. Anyone else agree? Or am I just really, really weird? :lmao:

I totally agree with you. And he literally was there right after Doyle, and if they went in that direction it would have cheapened the beautiful connection that Doyle and Cordi had.

Im glad he didnt have a crush on her. Cordy is big headed enough without Wes being obsessed with her. And Wordelia would have been horrible.

Wes had to be changed a bit, right from the start. He was very funny on Buffy, but to be a regular, they had to give him a little more depth than the nerdy uptight cowardly British guy with an awkward crush on Cordelia. They did so gradually but I think that it was all for the best.

I think that the kiss, the oh so awkward and hilarious kiss, put an end to anything between the two of them.

It would have been nice to maybe have an awkward moment or two between them though.

Kind of but not really... I love Fresley and wouldn't want anything to have disrupted their "budding" relationship (if one can call Wesley' epic crush on Fred that) in season 3... Wes + Fred = love, anything else for me would be wrong.

No I wouldn't want him to have had a crush on Cordy mostly because of what happened with their first kiss. I however, don't think the idea would have been stupid. There could have been some unused potential there. All in all I like them more as friends.

Well she did give him a big ol' smacker right when he showed up and he seemed to enjoy it.

However don't you feel that their brother/sister relationship was SO GOOD? It's one of my favorite parts of the first couple seasons. I think they were as close as Cordy was with Angel, minus the attraction part, they just didn't talk about it as much because the shows called 'Angel' not 'Wesley'.

Well the thing about that kiss was she didn't even know she was kissing Wesley until after so really... I just don't see it. I do think that Cordy and Wes were best friends. At times they did act like siblings but that was part of the fun. I loved their bickering a lot.

Cordy kissed him and I was like :jaw_drop: . . . that was kinda hot . . .



Then I was disturbed at myself and missed Doyle again. 🙁


Anyway, I voted that I'm glad it didn't carry over. Would have been strange I think. Since they resolved it so well on Buffy.

I think the darker Wes we saw in Season 3 would have been hot with Cordy.

I think after the freaking hilarious kiss scene, any more Cordy/Wesley (Cordesley? Wesdelia?) would have been anticlimactic enough to come close to beating a dead horse.

Oh, I just realized... They may actually be the only couple (or, well, potential couple) who broke up by genually falling out of love like everyday people, instead of having Joss "I hate happy couples" Whedon pull a drama card out of his butt on them. 😉
