Funny that it's okay for Buffy to question authority, but when Buffy is authority it isn't. The potentials not wanting to follow Buffy in S7 is exactly like Buffy not wanting to follow the council.

I completely agree. Buffy even gave the potentials their very own Cruciamentum in "Potential". Locking a group of untrained, powerless girls in a room with a psychotic vampire.... of course when the council do it it's a barbaric, dangerous practice, but when Buffy does it, it's a valuable bonding experience. :/

While Buffy's leadership in season 7 was hardly flawless, they were with the four of them, armed and (somewhat) trained. And unlike the Council, Buffy knew them, so she could tailor the challenge to their (lack of) skill. The Cruciamentum is undergone alone and unarmed and it's also implied that it's with a particularly ferocious vampire. If I'm not mistaken, the vampire in 'Potential' is a fresh one.

I think Buffy sometimes only saw things one way and didn't want to listen but that made her character interesting because she was wrong at times.

Yes, there were definitely times when I don't think Buffy did the right thing. But you know, that's what makes these characters more real. No one is perfect all the time, and it makes it more believable (if you can say that about a vampire show) when the characters screw up from time to time.

Parker was the worst mistake, and shocked me to the core! I'll tell you why.....

Season 1-4 DVD episodes are not numbered. The order is Top Left, Bottom Left, Top Right, Bottom Right on the menu. Season 4 is different -- Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Right. (or the other way around, but you get the point).

So for me she met Parker, exchanged pleasantries, and then she's in bed with him! That tramp!

I'm glad she made the mistake of not really working on her relationship with Riley. He seemed like a nice guy and would have made a good husband. It would have been boring to see them in couples counseling, planning their wedding, etc. Glad she made the wrong decision and chose Spike. That makes me a Spuffy, right?

Buffy's problem is not that she's sometimes wrong. Her problem is that she cannot admit she's wrong. That's why she questions authority figures, because she's convinced she knows what's best, because she is the slayer. And as you said, she might not realize that besides being the slayer she's also human, who can be wrong. When in deep fight, she sometimes sees things as black and white.
