Faith and Spike had a little conversation on Spike cot, and looked really.... comfortable with each other. Faith leans toward Spike, Spike is shirtless, they share a cigarette.... Then Buffy walks down the stairs, sees the two looking pretty cosy. Buffy gives them a serious look, and says it's nice to see them two getting along so well. She doesn't look happy though. And I've sensed a bit of jealousy coming from her.

Did you sense that too? Was Buffy jealous when she saw Spike and Faith like that?

Yes I really think she was jealous, and that's normal. Because when Buffy was with Riley, Faith slept with her boyfriend...Enven if it was in Buffy's body!

And when Faith arrived on Sunnydale she tried to seduce Scott her almost-boyfriend!^^ It was only one little scene, but still!

Just before to arrive in season 7, Faith told Buffy that she was "in the head of Angel" [I don't know how she said that in English version sorry] and in Angel the show, we saw Angel protect Faith against Buffy...

I think Buffy always has been jalous of Faith and that's normal because Faith always has envy Buffy and sort of try to steal her life!

Not only those two, (Riley and Scott) but when Buffy was trying to learn of the ascension, Angel and Buffy pulled that little trick on Faith, where Faith really thought she had stolen Angel from her. Faith always goes for Buffy's interests.

Plus, like she told Riley, she knows Faith is more experienced than her, and Faith isn't afraid to let that be shown. Buffy's more drawn back in that area, which is not a bad thing. Just saying it adds to Buffy's insecurities.

But yeah, I think she was jealous. Just like she was in s6 when Spike brought that "manic panic freak" to the wedding.

Besides, they're both slayers. They're gonna envy each other for the things they don't see in themselves.

Exactly what everyone else said. Also, Buffy was probably worried that since she couldn't have anything but a platonic relationship with Spike at the time given what had occurred between them, maybe Faith would be more than willing to step up and take over that role. Spike had been through a lot and was pretty lonely down there so I can imagine that Buffy would think that'd be something he would be interested in.

At the end of that season there's that exchange between Buffy and Faith when Faith is holding the scythe: Faith says it feels like it's "hers," and she hands it to Buffy and says "so I guess that means it's yours." It's the perfect commentary on what the two have always experienced in their relationship: Buffy gets something, Faith wants it, Faith tries to take it, (from Buffy's perspective,) or Faith wants something, Buffy already has it, "it" doesn't want Faith, (from Faith's perspective).

This is a scene that both the Spuffies AND the Fuffies love, because we can both claim it as affirmation of our respective ships.

But, yes, I believe that Buffy WAS jealous of Faith, as well as envious. At that point, Faith could have moved into the basement with Spike and the two could have done whatever they wanted to without much more than a few rolled eyes and knowing smirks. Buffy, herself, regardless of how much she wanted to do exactly the same thing, knew that doing so would have caused a riot among the troops, if not open rebellion.

But back to that specific scene, Buffy has never been famous for sharing her things with others, and, whether you accept that she actually did love Spike at that moment, there is no doubt that she saw him as HER vampire, and not community property. We saw pretty much the same thing the season before with Spike and Anya's bout of internet sex.

Exactly my thought. I too think she saw him as hers (I even wrote a fanfic about it).

Given Buffy's history with Faith, can you blame her for being jealous?? She was definitely jealous and uncomfortable with Spike and Faith's interaction, and I think it was totally justified and a normal girl reaction.

Yeah! Even after all the two went on to overcome, I don't think the two will ever look eye to eye. When it comes to men, it never will. She has interfered with Riley and Angel, and Spike was her latest. Im sure she was. It defiantly doesn't help that the two are somewhat rebels and she always views herself as an outsider

Buffy seemed to get jealous a few times when Spike was with another woman. I think she liked to be the only woman in his life, lol.

She was jealous when he turned up with a date at the wedding, she was jealous of him and Faith, and she was incredibly upset about him and Anya hooking up.

She may have denied loving him and wanting to be with him, but she certainly didn't want him to be with anyone else either
