I'm watching late season 4 now, Forrest is becoming such a pain in the ass to me right now. He's worse than Riley in season 5 imo. Was Forrest jealous of Buffy's strength?

I don't think that was his mayor problem with her. That would be that she made Riley think on his own. But, I bet it hurt extra much that the girl taking his friend away could kick his butt.

I do think Forrest was jealous of Buffy for a lot of reasons, and her strength was one of them. I think, though, that it was mostly that she was taking his best friend away from him.

I wouldn't say jaleous, I think it was just fear! He knew that he had no chance against her, he knew that none of the Initiative had such a strenght as Buffy had. So he saw a danger in her, because she was stronger than him and she teared the Riley-Forrest-Third-guy-team to the ground! Let's say fear, maybe prejudiges but in my eyes there was no jaleousy.

I think there was some petty jealousy there, sure. But I think his dislike for Buffy went a lot deeper than that; Buffy posed a big threat to everyone in the Initiative.
Before she came along, they were used to following orders, and not asking questions. Demons were demons and needed to be killed. Or saved for parts. Whatever Walsh demanded of them. But Buffy made Riley, the strongest leader among the soldiers, begin to question everything. Their nice little tidy package which told them how to think and act started to unravel.
And Forrest started to lose a friend.

Forest was in love with Riley and wanted him for himself.

.....not really 😛, but I agree with everything @Gun Gnome33 said. When right and wrong starts to get a little blurry, and when your ideal of a perfect system gets tampered with, you're going to start losing control.

I think everyone is jealous of Buffy because of her strengths in some way, but Forrest seemed to be more jealous of Buffy replacing him as number one on Riley's fave list and "ruining" their little "family" they had. Dude hated change 😛

Like others have said, I think his main issue with Buffy was that he felt like she was taking his best friend away from him. He made several comments about the amount of time they spent together and was never thrilled when she was around. I'm sure on some level he was a little jealous of her strength but I doubt that was the root of his jealousy.

I don't think he was jealous of Buffy's strength. I think he was jealous of the attention she got from Riley. Forrest was Riley's right hand man until Buffy came in, and then Buffy was Riley's right hand man... And then by the end, she had turned Riley against the organization he previously believed so much in... and Forrest still did. It's like he completely lost his best friend. I get it, and sympathize with him. I mean, I feel like you're sympathizing with Buffy because it's told from her perspective... but imagine the story told from Forrest's. I bet you'd think Riley's an ass for dumping his best friend like that after he gets a girlfriend, and Buffy's a bitch for taking up all of Riley's time.

He was definately jealous of Buffy. I think he was jealous of her relationship with Riley mainly, he didnt like that Riley was spending a lot of time with Buffy. He also didnt like that Buffy knew more about demons and monsters than he did.
