Was Halfrek Cecily?

I don't know if that's been argued upon previously but here it goes. Was Halfrek Cecily? And if they are to be the same person (or entity) that means Cecily didn't become Halfrek because Halfrek was like 1000 years old (correct me if I am wrong) but rather pretended that she was human like Anyanka did in "The Wish" episode. What do you think?
 
I dont have a copy on me, but in the Latest Buffy Mag, this question is answered.
Cecily IS Halfrek.....i only glanced at the mag but i'm sure it stated that Joss had given credence to this, thus making it fact.
 
Buffy Magazine plays fast and loose with facts sometimes.

There was the "Movie being made from Joss's grocery list" thing, and Kendra's last name is Young.

I'm guessing they got the story from Peter David who was writing an IDW comic in which I believe Halfrek is Cecily.

There was an exchange with a fan on his site that went like this -

Q: "Did you get any input from Whedon himself?"

A: Ostensibly comments came from Whedon, although for all I know, it was from an associate.

I honestly don't see what there is to argue? She is the same actress(Ok that might not prove it, but its a good start) and she and Spike make note of each other. And we Know that either she was the human Cecily in 1880 When she met Spike, or she was Halfrek "undercover", We know she was at least a demon by 1905(From Selfless) Thats plenty of time to be turned into a demon?
 
she's the same actress but i kinda found it wierd for Spike to recognize Halfrek in Buffy's birthday party so i really don't know
 
Yep... just saw the episode of the Bday party where they had the recognition...I would vote for YES if it was a poll
