Was it James and Sarah in the rape scene in "Seeing Red"?

Was it James and Sarah in "Seeing Red" when Spike was raping Buffy? or was it stunt doubles with the actors' voices dubbed over it

It was really them.

James has mentioned many times how he felt physically ill after filming that scene and how he even tried to get the writers to cut it completely after he first found out about it/read it in the script.

I saw one interview where he said that while it was hard to film & he'd never do such a scene again he was glad that the writers were willing to go there from a character point of view.

It was absolutely them. James has talked several times about how difficult it was for him and how making sure Sarah was okay was his and the crew's top priority during the shoot.

As much as I hate this scene, and as much as I hate that the writer's included it (they should have listened to Marsters), I can at least say that both actors did an amazing job with the acting.

I agree completely. I have never seen the point of having that scene in the show, but it was well-acted by both James Marsters and SMG.

I couldn't imagine what it must have been like for James Marsters to put himself in that kind of mind-set for the scene, but the acting makes the scene very powerful.
