I was just thinking was it a good move to have spike or some may argue illyria stay in LA i mean afterall LA already has a champion and it seems that all the champions in the world that we know of seem to be hanging around in california, i means its one state how much evil can there be? Illyria is understandable because she's a loose cannon but i think spike should have gone, obviously he was useful and played a big part in s6 of angel but he probably could have done a lot of good some place else- although i just relaised something the world is full of slayers so spike may not have been needed anywhere else, whts your 2 cents? lol

I think it worked amazingly well for the show. As for the fight against evil in the Buffyverse, at that point Buffy et all were spread around the world, with Buffy, Dawn, Andrew and Giles in Europe, Xander in Africa, Willow and Kennedy in South America and various potentials scattered around the globe.

Also, the Pendent was likely sent by someone with less-than-honorable inrentions (Lindsey?), so it makes sense. Destract Angel however possible, and provide endless fun for the fans.

Cali may have a disproportionate number of champions, but Spike's continued presence in So Cal was for the best, considering the lives he saved in Angel season 5
