Was Joss Whedon inspired from Xena Warrior Princess?

I know Wonder Woman, was apart of the influence for Buffy but I was wondering was he ever inspired by Xena Warrior Princess for certain episodes of Buffy?

In Season 2 of Xena episode; "Intimate Stranger", the female villian Callisto, came back from the dead and got into Xena's guilt of killing Callisto by letting her sink into the quicksand in "Return of Callisto", and Ares; God of War swapped Xena and Callisto's bodies. He put Xena in Callisto's body and Callisto in Xena's.

Anyways, in "Intimate Stranger", Callisto in Xena's body impersonate's Xena to others, the same thing that Faith in Buffy's body does in "Who Are You".

I'm not sure if she was a direct inspiration, but I'm sure he borrowed elements of the character when he designed and wrote Buffy.

I've seen a few interviews where the whole original concept for Buffy was done as a reversal of the stereotypical "hot blonde" who runs around from the bad guy in the horror movie and then dies at the end. He wanted to make fun of that in a way that was empowering at the same time and built Buffy around that.

But did you notice the similarities in the body switching episodes of both shows that I mentioned shown in the video posted?

Well, obviously. "Xena" is one of the most groundbreaking shows ever and "BtVS" was green lit because of Xena's absolutely massive success.
