Really? I feel it just comes across as Spike practically taking to himself, with Buffy giving no hint as to what she really thinks about him, let alone wether she still loves him.

It's like season 7 never happened.
 
No, it's showing the reality of what Season 7 was. And Spike recognizes it. But this is probably a conversation for another thread. 🙂
