Am I the only one who thinks they wasted the vamp: Mr. Trick in Season 3? I loved him in "Faith Hope and Trick" and "Consequences". He was barely used. He should have been more than the Mayor's bitch.

I agree. His character was quite fresh and the actor definately brought something we hadn't seen before. I'm not sure in what other capacity he could have been used but I would have liked to have seen it.

I'm gonna go with 'just right'. Mr. Trick arrived, made a strong impression as a lacky and even managed to launch a scheme of his own (slayerfest) which was a pretty darn good idea.
Then he got recruited by The Mayor and ran a few errands, all the time he was built up as possibly a physical match for Buffy and yet they never really got a one-on-one fight.
Then in 'Consequences' Trick comes very close to defeated an already injured Buffy when 'surprise!'- he's killed by Faith. It was a shock twist and it worked- then having Faith taking Trick's place at the Mayor's side was yet another twist.

It was like Spike the physical threat getting replaced by Angelus or (less successfully) Prof. Walsh getting replace by the more physically threatening Adam.

I agree. His death made way for Faith and the mayor.
Mr Trick could have lasted longer. I think that it would have been really interesting to have had him still around when Faith came over to the Mayor's team. If nothing else, Wilkins' frustration and exasperation with their constant bickering and each trying to outdo the other could have resulted in some great comedic scenes. On the other hand, if they ever teamed up and worked together, they would have been a real force to be reckoned with. Also he could have been used as part of a mirror image of Buffy's life in Sunnydale. The evil Slayer with her evil "Watcher" and evil vampire boyfriend, an evil geek (the Assistant Mayor) and an evil witch of some kind.

It's kind of like the same with The Mayor. He really wasn't in a lot of s3 episodes, but turned out to be a good big bad. So I think that once Mr. Trick started working for The Mayor we should have seen a bit more of them between Band Candy and Bad Girls. But I don't think he was under used, I think maybe just one added episode would have been perfect. He had a slightly different take on being a vampire which was cool. I don't think I would have wanted him and Faith to be working together. I just love the scene when she stakes him, and she does it to save Buffy. So I wouldn't change that.

I liked Mr.Trick a lot. I think he could have used more screen time, but I also liked Faith staking him to save Buffy and replacing him in his job with the mayor.

Was surprised that he didn't stick around longer, but I do think he was a good supporting character and given the storyline involving The Mayor and Faith it might have been hard to have balanced another main villain, so I can see why he was axed so soon.

Guess they could have done some cool stuff with him and Faith both working with the Mayor. Can even think of Trick's droll remarks towards their "father and daughter" thing😉
