Okay, humans=good, demons=bad. In theory, not so true. But there were some evil beings on the show that got theirs. But do you feel sorry for them? Are there any evil beings, demons, vampires that you felt bad for? I mean, evil has feelings too, you know.

Drusilla. The way she was turned insane before she was turned is just awful. Arguably she has diminished responsibility for the evil she carries out (or she would if she were human anyway). She never had a chance and her 'family' are not always very patient with her.

I feel bad for the demons in "Earshot" for some reason. I don't really know why, but they always seemed kind of helpless to me. Maybe it's the lack of a mouth.

I always felt sorry for Jonathan. Andrew and Warren abused him in my eyes a little bit to often. And he was alway the "invisible" outsider at school. That made me sad! I think that this time was really formative for him. He just wanted to be respected, he wanted to have friends. That's why he turned evil in my eyes!

I soooo agree with this!! Thank you sisterofmercy for this post. 😀

And I felt sorry for Darla as well. When she was pregnant and she felt Connor's soul. She was so confused and nobody really trusted her or knew what to do with her.

And then there was this poor Harmony... They always laugh at her and Spike is not nice to her... Yeah, I feel for Harmony. 🙂

I feel bad for Harmony sometimes, I have to remind myself that she's a vampire. but she's so sad and dumb I can't help it.

Oh, and also Vamp!Willow...I mean, she just wanted to have fun like she used to..she was pretty much confused.

spike. most of all.

i also felt bad for glory. she was a brilliant character.

i felt bad for drusilla at times. and also jonathan, big time. but i never thought he was evil.

i was also going to say ford (although i never thought he was evil, either), but i actually don't feel sorry for him. there are so many people that handle conditions like his with much more grace and understanding. the fact that he was willing to sacrifice so many people, including basically feeding buffy to spike, to get what he wanted, to me is just low and immoral. i feel really conflicted about him and whether or not i should feel sorry for him.

Spike, Faith (I mean, she wakes up from her coma only to find that the father figure in her life, the Mayor, had been killed by Buffy), Ford. I know some people think that Ford was dead wrong, but I can't really blame him. Because I think in his situation, if I had known there was a way out of death (and not known the ramifications of being a vampire), I may have done that too.

Most of the vampires at one point; it seemed like most of them didn't have a choice in becoming a monster. Seems like a pretty crappy thing to have forced on you.

Of all the villains in the Buffy verse the only one that I never felt any sympathy from was Caleb and the First, it seemed that they had very definitely chose to be what they were. However the two that I always felt had really had a bad lot was Drusilla and Darla. Of all the evil characters on both shows, Drusilla is by far the most tragic. In fact it can be said that of all the vampires on the show, only Drusilla and William were genuinely good people, but in the end William made the choice to be a vampire and becomes spike. Dru on the other hand was mentally tortured for a year and then when she finally is about to find some peace in her life she is made a demon, and mad. Its also quite certain that Dru clearly remembers her family and is haunted by those memories. Darla makes the list because of what Angel says, she never had a chance to be a good person. She kept getting thrust into these roles that she could not get out of, and would end up being a puppet to people more powerful then she was. First in her human life she was a prostitute without any real choice in the matter, and then she becomes a vampire and is always the Master's creature. Finally when she is resurrected she is terminally ill, and the only way out that she sees is to become a vampire again. So I always thought that Darla and Drusilla had the worst lives of any of the evil people on Buffy or Angel.

The first character that comes to mind from both Buffy and Angel is Lindsey. Not that I really think of him as evil, but he was a bad guy for a good portion of Angel so... yeah. Close enough.
