I wasn't much of a fan of Buffy during the first season...it wasn't until a friend of mine showed me the season 2 premiere episode that I was hooked. I then went back to watch all of first season, and enjoyed it for what it was.

I'm surprised the first episode of season two was the one that hooked you. That was the first episode I ever saw and had I not blind purchased season two, I probably wouldn't have bothered watching anymore. Season two didn't really start to hook me until School Hard.

I started watching Buffy from The harsh light of day and was hooked instantly. So when i eventually saw s1 i was already a fan and i personally loved s1 when i saw it, but i might have seen it different had s1 been the first season i seen.

I can't help but love Season 1 for what it is. It's where it all began and although there isn't much of an 'arc' apart from the Master and some people don't like the 'monsters' in it but I really like how it goes 'Hey, we're on a Hellmouth! All this sort of stuff can happen on a Hellmouth' - if that makes sense.

And I LOVE noticing how SHORT Buffy's skirts are! Which makes me sound slightly perverse, which I assure you is not the case! :d

Xander made me love the first season. He was just so funny, like in "Nightmares" when Willow asked him whether he still had a thing for Buffy when she was a vampire. First he denies it and then Willow calls him on it and he is says "I'm sick I need help". I laughed so hard. Xander does things like that all through the first season I just love it.

The first episode I watched was from season 2, I remember it was showing on Sky 1 at the time and it was the Surprise/Innocence two parter so I was hooked instantly on the bangel relationship. A few episodes after that Sky 1 pulled the show for a few months and then started airing it from the start. I never really thought about the fact that if I was watching it from season 1 I might not have been as into it as I was.

Season 1 was a very good series and looked at a lot of topics and dealt with a lot of issues, like internet dating and abuse (to highlight the more serious ones). So I'd like to think that if I'd watched the show from episode 1 season 1 and not known how it was progressing I'd still have been a big fan.

Yeah i have to agree that when i saw season one, i was a bit like...please get better. And oh my did it get better! I'm now on season 4 episode. It evolved like mad. From what i hear though, it never stops

I actually didn't see season one until I got the boxed set 2 years ago but! Season 2 was what got me hooked as well. I bought a set on VHS that was the whole Angel/Buffy story arc of that season.

Season one has it's moments but it's still not the best thing ever. I'm glad someone showed you the second season premiere. 🙂

I think season 1 was pretty good.
I've stated most of my thoughts in a previous thread.
One of my favorite things about Buffy's wardrobe is her 90's retro ring lol

Again i was never really a fan of season 1, just compared to the other seasons it's crap, but i do think it has a few really good episodes in it, maybe there wasn't enough drama? 🙂

Season one is my least favorite season, but I would still watch it any day of the week.

It has the innocence of characters like Willow, Xander, and even Buffy. Angel is still mysterious, Giles is still goofy. Like Flannen said, it's where it all began, and sometimes it's nice to forget about which characters have died/changed, etc., and just watch them grow up. 🙂
