This season is the big season for Giles and Jenny romance, I know it didn't last long but it was one of my favorite aspects of the show. It was so sweet, I had tears welling in my eyes when she died, poor Giles. They were proof oopsites attract.

So here's a thread to discuss their romance, the fight, and her death.

Ain't it adorable when they kiss???

I absolutely adored them. It was so cruel of Joss letting Jenny die so soon... I still miss her. 🙁

(btw, would you mind using a smaller pic for your sig please? it really stretches the posts too much away from another IMO)

OMg i loved Giles and Jenny.. they were so cute!!

Modern age technopagen and old fashion librarean....who ever knew that would make such a good couple!!

it was a cute relationship but to be honest i always saw it as the 'obvious' relationship. It didnt really have much depth either, it was played out over a couple episodes. Throw a bit of drama in Jenny having a mysterious past and youve got their relationship.

When she died, i felt strange for Buffy to be so heart broken as to break down (after the phone call with Giles). Jennys character was never fully developed for me to really care about her death and likewise, i never really cared about their relationship... it wasn't 'epic' enough in scope for me to care.

I like it because it's so tragic because in hindsight, you know what's going to happen now. The first time around it didn't really get to me. It was either a little bit not enough or I was too young to give a shi... a damn. Now, though, I love the tragedy and I know that makes me a strange person but whatever. lol The lure of what could be and what never had the chance to develop intrigues me. That whole, we'll never know because the relationship was pretty much in it's infancy sends me to a comfortable but weird place. Could've been the best relationship ever, but alas, wel'll never know.

😀 Weird night. lol

no problem... and thank you! :) she is indeed!
I loved Giles and Jenny so much, they are probably my third favorite ship. If she wouldn't have died, I could have seen them be the one ship to last until the end.

I absolutely loved Giles and Jenny together. I was heartbroken for him when Joss killed her character off, and always wondered why he never let Giles have another serious romantic interest (and no, I don't think Olivia from S4 counts)... I wanted Giles to be happy with someone. He, of all of them, deserved a happy ending. 🙂

Yes, there romance was very cute and I loved the time when Buffy saw them kissing through the window in the door. That was a beautiful scene. Who wouldn't want to kiss Rupert. His so handsome, I know I would love to play Jenny in that scene.

I thought it was a cute relationship, but nothing more than cute. Like Silum said, as far as we know, it lacked a lot of depth, as it was only developped over a couple of episodes. I would have loved to see more of them, and that was the main reason why I was sad when she died. Not neccesarily because I felt for Giles and the Scoobies, but because there was a lot of potential there that was now never to be realised.

This has always been my thinking, in regards to what Silum said about Buffy's reaction: I'm not sure if i believe Buffy's break down was all about Jenny, but more about realizing "Angel" was far gone and Angelus was this vicious beast. I mean granted she mourned Jenny, but also truly accepting the loss of Angel.

I definitely agree with that statement. Buffy was never close to Jenny, so I always thought her reaction was all about realizing that her lover was gone and a monster was in his place.

Oh, that's a very good point. I've also wondered why Buffy reacted like she did. I think it might well be because of that it hit her that Angel was officially gone, I mean, Angel liked Jenny, right?

I also had to cry when she died, I was soo sorry for Giles. and at first nobody knew what she did before she died and how important it was

I've now finaly seen the episode where Jenny dies and I loved it. It's one of the best episodes I've seen of "Buffy" so far. And Rupert's character was wonderful in this episode.
