So, I just got Angel season for on DVD as a christmas present (yay). And I have only seen 2/3 of season 1 yet. I haven't read any of the threads about this season, 'cause I don't want any spoilers (I already now some things but please don't tell me anything important that will happen). But, what I am wondering is, should I wait, and order season 2 and 3, and watch them before I watch season 4..? Or doesn't it really matter..? Can I watch them in any order..?

When I started watching Buffy I watched all episodes in wrong order and that wasn't good at all, it ruined quite a lot for me.. So I don't want to make the same mistake this time.. But if the seasons are kinda.. different from eachother.. and.. I don't know. I thought I should ask you about your opinion, since most of you have seen all seasons of Angel.

Thanks for your help.

I would say watch them in order as I really ruined Angel for myself by watching them in messed up orders. But if you really need to watch S4 you can. Although you might be spoiled when you watch season 3 I'd say.

I agree, it's much easier to understand when you watch them in order. s4 can get a little confusing if you havn't seen all the previous seasons.

Sooo gotta agree with Xander Harris and Angelic Slayer00.

I mean basically you're talking about jumping from To Shanshu in LA to Deep Down, right?

Gunn has just more or less been introduced, and you hadn't even met Fred yet.

I'm not going to spoil you, but I will tell if you jump right into Deep Down, you're going to be going "What the... What could have put our hero here."

Then there's all the character development. You're not going to really know why some of the characters would do some of the things they will do. Actually S-4 is kind of deep. You're going to be asking yourself those kind of questions anyway.

If only you could trade in S-4 for S-2. Great gift, but I don't envy your dillema. I know if I were you I'd watch S-4 anyway, but I also know I'd regret doing it.

Thanks for your advises guys. 'Cause I think that's exactly what would happen if I hadn't asked you, I'd have watched season 4 and regret it.. But I got some money this christmas too so I'll order S-2 and S-3, hehe.. Finally I'll be able to watch Angel, yay (damn, I won't have time to do any school work in January).

Lucky you. I wish I could watch them again for the first time.
Then you'll be ready for S-5. In my opinion the best Season in all of Angel, or even Buffy. (Just looking for trouble. :tongue05: )

Ah, but that's great! If S-5 is the best season, I've really got something to look forward to, hehe.
The only bad thing, is that although I haven't read any Angel-threads, I've seen threads named "When did Cordy become evil?" and lots of threads about different characters dying.. hm. But well, at least it's not as spoiled as when I first watched Buffy (and look at what kind of obsessive religious Buffy nerd I became, even though the spoiling, heh)..

I agree with what everyone said. I actually saw season 4 before season 3 and it ruined season 3 for me. 3 is a great season, I wish I would have seen it without knowing what would happen.

Yea I'm really glad I watched season 2 and 3 before season 4. That would have ruined so much for me. (And I'm not a huge fan of s4 either... more s5 though, mmhm.)

Definitely watch them in order! You'll probably be major confused, and at the least not surprised with what happens in seasons 2 and 3 by being spoiled by season 4.

SPOILERS!!!!!
I really like Season 4. You had The Beast and Angelus. However Wolfram and Hart does not play that big of a role, so it has its pluses and minuses.

I was one of those who was lucky enough to see every episode of both Buffy and Angel in order, right from the start. I caught Welcome to the Hellmouth purely by chance one Saturday night years ago on it's first airing on Sky One and needless to say i was hooked from then on, right through to Not Fade Away. I never missed a first run episode, i'm very proud to say. In fact they are the only two shows that i can honestly say that about. I've even missed a couple of episodes of my precious Stargate over the years (did catch them in repeats though, lol).

Definately watch them in order if you can manage to do so. They will make so much more sense if you do and you will appreciate the storyline and development that much more!
