Watching BTVS The Movie for the First Time

In the 90's the movie came out and it looked so lame that I never saw it. Flash forward to 2011, and me and my family LOVE BTVS (TV Show). So I thought it was time to watch the movie.

Wow, this is bad. Really bad. I think about poor Joss, and wondering what he thought watching this mess.

And I'm even more stunned that the Fox executive thought this would make a good TV show. lol!! How did she sell that one? Joss must have made a heck of a presentation to Fox. It's hard to believe the TV Show came from the movie.

It's taken me 3 days to get through this movie. It's painful. And to think that the persons responsible for this mess is going to do the reboot. 🙁
 
HORRIBLE!! lol it was so bad but the only reason I got through it was because there were so many random yet awesomely amazing actors in it.

I put myself through it once and only once. I didn't know what to think on it, it was just very corny and laughable. Then again this was in the 90's, but now I think back on it, this made a great TV movie for a crap Sunday afternoon.
 
I saw it when it first came out and loved it. Only reason I tuned into the TV series was because I liked the movie. As good as the movie was though, I cant image seeing it AFTER seeing the series. The movie did alot of things right, and I think the mistakes learned from the movie- ie the valley speak, things of that matter- Joss quickly got rid of in the first episodes of the series.

There was nothing terribly wrong with the movie.
 
I didn't like the movie as much as the show, that's for sure, but the movie's not horrific. It's not one that would ever stand out in my mind as a favorite or anything. It's... mediocre at best.
 
I actually sort of enjoy the film. It's delightfully campy, and who doesn't love this line

"All I wanna do is graduate from high school, move to Europe, marry Christian Slater, and die.

I first saw the movie before the TV series. Then I saw it after I had been watching the show for a while. Needless to say, I still enjoyed the movie. Was it better than or just as good as the series? No. But I still found it very enjoyable.
 
I actually really like the movie. It's silly and fun. The vampires are the worst thing EVER but other than that, I kind of really love it. Great quotes.

Same here.

It'll never be the best movie ever made but it's campy and fun. Not to take too seriously 🙂
 
Ugh... I LOVED this movie when I was younger - looooong before I understood "good" movies. And the only reason I watched the show in the first place when it first aired was because I thought they were airing the movie, and I was feeling reminiscent. But it was definitely painful to watch. And I OWN it... :whistle:
