Watching DVDs Simultaneously

With my growing collection of Buffy and Angel DVDs (All of Buffy, S1 &2 of Angel and getting others for xmas) I am rewatching all of them in order (except I'll watch Amends xmas morn when my brother wakes me up super early). However soon I will have the trouble of watching Angel and Buffy now I was wondering, people who have done this with DVDs how have they done it. I can think of three ways:

1. One episode of Buffy, then one episode of Angel
2. One disc (so four eps) of Buffy, then one disc of Angel
3. Season 4 of Buffy, then S1 of Angel, then S5, then S2 etc.

However they all have their faults. I just cant decide.

I need to watch them quicker as well, Angel S5 is due in Feb and im only on "Ted"!
 
I have never done that, watched Angel and Buffy at the "same" time, but I would watch them in the order they aired. So I guess that would be btvs-ep/ats-ep/btvs-ep and so on. I'm so looking forward to the day I'll be able to do that, hehe.

I have never yet watched all btvs episodes in the right order... I usually fall in love with a particular season or character or episode.. And watch all that has to do with that, over and over again.
 
yeah I would do the Buffy-Angel-Buffy-Angel ep thing, ofcourse watch Season1-3 of Buffy first than choose to start with the first Buffy S4ep or Angel S1 ep, but make sure to choose the right one so you are able to get all the eps in good continuity(basically so the cross-overs match up at the right time and dont pull a UPN-WB thing)

And when Season5 of ANgel comes out, be sure to watch the cross-over eps in continuity since than you can get more excitement out of it(have Fred call Willow, goto Buffy S7 dvd and watch Willow receive the call, jump over to Angel and watch Orpheus and so on) Its just so much more fun that way IMO.
 
Personally i choose to watch them in the following order.

Buffy seasons 1 through 3 i watch from start to finish first.

From Buffy season 4 and Angel season 1 i watch one episode from either show alternatively. So The Freshman first, then City of, then Living Conditions, then Lonely Hearts and so on through to Grave and Tomorrow at the end of Buffy season 6 and Angel season 3 respectively.

With Buffy season 7 and Angel season 4 it obviously doesn't work out that the episodes run concurrently, for example Willow only leaves Sunnydale in episode 17 of Buffy whilst she arrives in L.A. in episode 15 of Angel that year, not to mention the final episode of Angel obviously happens prior to the penultimate episode of Buffy. With the episodes from this season i just use my best guess as far as the time frame is concerned.

Then obviously i finish with season five of Angel. Easy! 😉
 
Good tips!!! See I've watched them as I've gotten them so I've never really had to deal with that. Now I'm on a Buffy kick so I just recently rewatched S1 & 2, and am about to go onto S3. Unfortunately the DVD player (aka my XBox) is broken in my room 🙁 and I have to fight for time on one of the downstairs TVs.
 
Ideally it would be better to alternate eps of each show for concurrent seasons.

However, for practicality (and to perhaps save some wear and tear on your discs AND DVD player) it's definitely easier to go disc by disc for concurrent seasons. As in Buffy S4 Disc 1, Angel S1 Disc 1. Buffy S4 disc 2, Angel S1 disc 2 and so on.
 
I've tried to watch them one buffy, one angel (even with 3 missing angel seasons) and it's just hard because you get into a story on Buffy and you get really exited about watching the next episode to that and find yourself being frustrated when you have to watch an angel episode, or the other way round 😀 I tend to watch a season of buffy then a season of angel even though you can encounter the same problem!
 
I get that. And as long as you remember what happened in the other show, I guess there's nothing wrong with watching Buffy season-Angel season-Buffy season... lol. It's just a matter of what you feel like really. Heh. I just think it's cool that it works like buffy ep - angel ep - buffy ep.. But, reading the posts in this thread, I've understood that maybe it doesn't work as well as I thought it did, with the time and the order of the episodes and so on..
 
Well when we watched Buffy and Angel when they were originally airing, that's pretty much how we'd see them, one Buffy ep, followed by an Angel ep (ours were both on Tuesday nights, 8 pm and 9 pm). And that always worked really well for me for storyline.

But it's also hard to resist when you can just put in any disc you want! 😀
 
I just watch the whole season when they come out. I watch every episode until it's complete.

Then, I just pick and choose episodes that I want to watch. Whatever i'm in the mood for. It's very unconventional.
 
The only thing I may have to argue on that nicely compiled list is that you should watch Deep Down right after Tomorrow instead of having Lessons in between.
 
I watched the last few episodes of season 3 and 5 before any other episodes.. then all the rest came randomly, I would not have a clue about the order, but I have a question, when it was first aired, was it buffy or angel that come first in the week?
 
Before Buffy moved networks Buffy would air first followed by Angel at 9 back to back.

Then after Angel would air first with it being on monday for awhile, than to sunday still being ahead I guess and than behind Buffy on Wednesdays. But TheWB and UPN also showed reruns and new episodes at different times, sometimes.
