Often times people just getting into a TV show, will see some random show on cable and watch it, or when your still barely curious and have amazon prime, like me, you'll skip ahead and go for the episodes that look good.

point is any idea what its like watching things allready knowing the GIST of whats going to happen.

like that angel will lose his soul, but will get it back.

etc.

Vs experiencing things for the first time

I will admit I never went through a WTF over dawns inclusion as I'd allready heard what she was so never felt suspicious of her either.

Just got into the franchise last year.

Unfortunately I started watching the show when s7 was airing so I did not watch it in order. At the time I was watching the show every time it was on TV on any channels, so I watched a lot of the seasons concurrently.

I think it's better seeing the show in order. I still wasn't spoiled too much since I did see most of the episodes in each season in order, but I think it would have been even better to also watch the seasons themselves in order.

I think it's a huge disservice to yourself and to the show.

Watching the show out of order means that you can't really understand where the characters came from, in my opinion.

If you watching S6 first, you don't know why Buffy's crawling out of a grave or where Willow's magic addiction came from.

If you watch S7 first, you can't really understand why everyone's so worried about Dawn or why everyone's talking like Dawn's a recent addition, considering she's Buffy's 15 year old sister.

If you watch S4 first, you won't understand the weight of Angel's leaving or why his return in 'Pangs' or 'The Yoko Factor' is such a big deal.

Watching the show out of order is okay, I think, if you then go back and watch it again, in order. I think you better understand the characters if you know the whole story in the order that it happened.

I can never watch stuff out of order. If I hear a show has gotten really good, I go back and watch from episode 1.

Especially a show like Buffy, which has layered running themes and stories, it's just a better experience from start to finish.
