Watching the 'verse in its entirety

This is something I've been wondering about. I've seen Buffy beginning to end and I've seen Angel beginning to end, but I've never been able to synchronize my viewings. Either I start and get to exciting episodes in one show and just watch those then, or I get stuck somewhere completely midseason.
Does thih happen to other people to? Has ANYONE actually managed to watch Buffy and Angel synchronized all the way through, so that all the references make sense?
 
I watched them every week when they originally came out, so yes. I suppose having seen them that way originally helped.
 
At first, I was watching both S1 of Buffy and Angel...but then I realized that wouldn't make much sense in the long run so I dropped S1 Angel and will pick it back up again when I start to watch S4 Buffy.

I got all the way up to "Sanctuary", but stopped midway through. I'll pick it back up again by watching B/A crossovers and my favourites....but not all the ones I have missed.
 
I've watched it synchronized once. For it to happen again I have to stop being lazy. Since it's such hard work changing dvd's all the time. 😉

I've watched Buffy s.1 - 3 directly followed by Ats to get Angels story in one piece. Not very unoriginal but I think most watch all of Buffy first to then go on to Angel. But what do I know.

easy solution to the switch problem: watch on the PC, assuming yours (like most) has two drives, it's just one click on the player software to change between the sources. :)
I was just thinking about how I wished there was a complete list of crossovers and mentions between shows so I could just look up the precise moment on the other show....things like phone calls for example.

I've never watched the 2 shows in synchronisity and I think it might be too much work.🙂 I like to just get engulfed in what's happening on each show, except for those little moments or special appearances!
 
I was tempted to do try this after I had finished with watching the full series of Angel, but honestly I think its too much of a nuisance having to keep swapping out the DVD's after each episode. If I had more free time I'd give it a shot, but right now its just easier to watch a couple of episodes in a row on the same disc.
 
I am watching them synchronized right now. I've watched Buffy all the way through numerous times, but this is my first time ever watching AtS. Many questions have been answered and I get the references, too.
 
I am watching them synchronized right now. Though I've had to take a minor break due to EXTREME obsession with all things Medieval and Harry Potter.

But I do find it pretty interesting to watch them in order that way. There are a lot things that overlap and work together that I didn't notice before.
 
Yes I watched it that way last year. And there are a few other lists for crossover info floating around the Internet. It is probably much easier to go back and forth when you do it via Netflix, which I did on my Blu-Ray.

Actually I should clarify that I did that during Angel seasons 1, 2 & 4 but not season 3 since there are no crossovers and only a few mentiOns at the beginning of the season. And seasons 2 & 4 I didn't watch one episode of Buffy & then an episode of Angel, I watched them in arcs so it disrupted the flow less but still got the impact of the crossovers.

I'm now rewatching AtS all by itself but since I already did the rest h the other way I know all the info & about all the crossovers.
 
I've done it. it was really much better done that way. Part of it was irritating because I would get into the story and want to watch that storyline through but I couldn't because I was doing them both... but I did enjoy being able to get a feel for the whole verse.
 
I got into Angel quite late when it was originally on so I missed doing the synchronising. Now that I've got both on DVD I do synchronise them from time to time, I like it when things flow properly storywise.
