WB LOSES ITS GLOW

Long the darling of advertisers and agencies targeting young viewers, the WB has lost its glow this season because of double-digit ratings losses, including in its specialty demo, young women. Media buyers say they plan to take a tougher stance when negotiating with the WB in this May's upfront for next season's advertising, but they also credit the network with having generated years of goodwill. "A lot of us have unconditional love for the WB and the young demographic it targets," said one media buyer who declined to speak for attribution. But that love can fade quickly if the agencies' clients balk at paying the huge rate increases the WB has commanded over the last five upfronts - up to 10 percent more than the Big Four networks. - John Consoli

Well they have a good reason to be less happy. The ratings are down except for Charmed and Angel. Also, they failed to create a new hit... and the comedies(Reba not included) are not successfull.
 
Good... but if other shows fail, the WB will be gone and that may mean no more 'Charmed' and 'Angel' until another network decides to buy the shows...
 
The Wb isn't struggling at all, it's just that after a great last season, this year, a lot of their shows are a little down. That's all. Plus slayerangel, the Wb is way far from being sold... 🙂 Look at UPN, they still haven't make profit since its existence and it's still going even the great number of failures. The Wb is fine, it's just a bad or less good year for them. 7th Heaven, Smallville, Angel, Gimore Girls, Reba, Everwood and Charmed are still high rated shows for the WB.
 
Seems like they're doing good...I mean, there are a lot of good shows. Also, they have a new one called One Tree Hill which is actually pretty good.
 
yup,..have you seen those guys?!,..well,you're male,I guess you don't care,..but well,they are HOT!,I started watching the show because of them and it seems to be pretty good,I like it..it's a good show😀

I love the guys on One Tree Hill, Magui! Lol! I still think DB is hotter, though...

Yea I heard One Tree Hill was doing very well. I wouldn't really say they've failed to create a new hit. I love One Tree Hill, and I know a lot of people who watch it.
 
I love One Tree Hill too. Brooke is the hottest, then Peyton, then Haley.

Anyway, back on topic. I think the WB11 made a big mistake by 'giving' Buffy to the UPN9 people for season 6. The WB11 also doesn't give shows a chance. they cancel like 4 shows every year. its beginning to take a turn for the worse. id get rid of 7th heaven because that's the same thing over and over and over and over again. and besides that they show reruns of tv shows that only have like 30 episodes. im bored with it.
 
Parker Summers, The Wb is known to be patient with his shows, mostly with its comedies but usually gives full season order to his drams. When on Fox or NBC shows struggles, they cancel it. The Wb is more generous.

BillieHunter, you may think that OTH is good but the fact is the until now, the ratings are bad(last episode aside but I think that Bush helped OTH) and the show is NOT a hit. It is the lowest rated drama on the Wb. It isn't a hit.
 
The shows which I think rock over on The WB is Angel, Charmed, Everwood & One Tree Hill.
 
A little slayerangel. The last 2 episodes performed poorly(mostly the last one). But it's too soon to say anything. However I'm actualy worry... and kinda sad...
