weakness

I believe that Buffy's largest weakness is her love for her family and friends. Because of that love, there are sometimes she cannot do her job as the slayer.
 
Yeah I saw this interview with joss, and he explaioned that he couldn't get the audience to sympathize with buffy by putting her in a situation where she was outmatched physically. Instead they have to attack her emotionally to get the audience to "pity" her. I thought that was kinda interesting, considering how troublesome Buffy has been emotionally this season.

I definitly agree with you. She is so tied with that love, she sometimes forgets that she has a job to do. Though without this, Buffy wouldn';t be the same!
 
But without the love for her friends and family i dont think she would go on slaying i think she would of quit long ago.
 
I definetely think it is her "girl" side that makes her weak. Remember the demon that split people and was wanting to split Buffy but got Xander instead. He would have had a full Slayer, but also just a girl and could have easily killed the girl but the Slayer would have died also.
 
but without her friends she wouldnt have gotten through some sticky stuff
granted quite often worrying about said friends gets her into just as much trouble
it all comes down to thaat converstion she had with kendra in the library in 'Whats My Line Part 2'
where she explains that emotions and feelings are her strengths not a weakness
