That's precisely why I'm wondering if he regrets it. Because even if he didn't intend an association, an association gets made. I did find a quote that Joss said that he came up with it even before he ever heard of Stephenie Meyers & the Twilight Saga.

Well, he can't regret something he's not responsible for or couldn't predict, it's like with the "Spiderman" film and 9/11 or "The Lone Gunman" and 9/11 or "Earshot" and the school massacre, he could either completely ignore it or use to a comedic effect, which he did. Also, he came up with the "girl falls for a corpse" thing first...OK, actually Le Fanu did, except his corpse was a woman and the girl was...a lesbian. Oh.

Why is Willow always floating? I don't recall that being a side-effect of her spell. A little too fantastical for me.
Season 8 Willow is more powerful than ever ( the floating thing will be touched later on ) and she's also an addict, a junkie with a practically infinite supply of drug. Hence, floating and mojo whenever it's just a bit justified.

I find it interesting that Giles has so much confidence in Faith. She doesn't have a great track record, she wasn't really rehabilitated for her problems, and she's been alienated from the group presumably for a long time. I think I said before I thought it a bit reckless to send her on a mission to take a human life, and now I'm thinking he's an idiot for not having the thought that maybe evil Faith might weasel her way out.

I agree. Instead of a one rogue psychotic Slayer he could get two psychotic rogue Slayers, Giles has never been a paragon of responsibility but seriously, what the hell? I know that Faith changed, but with over 2000 Slayers around there has to be someone better ( I bet Satsu, Leah and Rowena would gladly chop G into pieces with the 2003 Slayer connection and whatnot, bonus "Charlie's Angels" references ) It's like Giles is trying to do whatever he can to stay in the game, become relevant again, be a watcher of one chosen one and save the world with her...again. Midlife crisis much? And suddenly fancy sweaters make perfect sense.

Lady G sure has a chip on her shoulder, thinking she can take out the Buffster.
Yeah, what is she thinking? She wants to kill a gal who defeated a GOD, what an ego! The Slayer cannot be defeated, will they ever learn?

Faith, you moron. Seriously. Why on earth would you stop Buffy from killing her?? Obviously, Faith hasn't figured out how to deal with her own screw-ups, though I don't quite get the whole "it has to only be one of us that's the hero" mentality when there are 1800 other heroes in the world now. Time to get over yourself, honey. These are the only people who gave you a shot, gave you chance after chance after CHANCE, and YOU screwed it up. Owen up to it, get some help, get over it.
True. At this point she's hardly the most tormented Slayer around, if Buffy was so anal she would be permanently catatonic or something.

No Future For You Part 4

-Love the cover art!
-Yeehaw! There's our Faith, kickin' Gigi through the solarium.
-Obviously Gigi and Roden didn't do very good homework if they don't know who Faith is, and Gigi thinks she can take her on. Silly girl. (And taking a swipe at Princess Di?! Geez...)
-"I don't want you to be any part of this." Ouch for Buffy - she is obviously very hurt by Giles saying that, so maybe they aren't quite as estranged as we thought?
-Woohoo, the Ripper makes an appearance! And, um, ew.
-Oooh, a Faith/Giles alliance. Interesting. Maybe she now has a less-evil father-figure?
-Twilight wants to bring the "age of magic" to a close? Ooookkkaaayyy....so, what, the universe is too filled up with mojo so they have to purge it? And what a cheesy outfit, dude. I feel like this plot is similar to Adam's in S4 - gotta have the Slayer fight a war so there's enough body parts on both sides. Hmmm.

I never thought about the comparison with Adam in season 4.
