Week 3: Safe

Nothing ever runs smooth! Though if Mal hadn't wanted Simon to take River and get lost for a bit, they wouldn't have got lost for even longer and Book would have been easier to help. Though the shepherd seems to be keeping a major secret of some kind.

Simon and River initially seemed to have a good childhood, but their father seemed to care less once River was sent away. And being abducted to be a doctor is all fun and games until someone is going to be burnt at the stake as a witch.

Mal does seem to have a fairly straightforward approach to loyalty, and him liking the person is irrelevant.

I like how they are pushing the idea that the gang really are prepared to smuggling anything.
Taking it to the absurd with cattle.

You gotta feel bad for the Tam siblings.
Seems like they had a good life and somehow ended up in this hell.

Wonder what the odds are that everyone that they picked up as passengers in the pilot has some major secrets. lol
But if you want some kind of explanation I guess you could say that it isn't just by chance. They could probably spot that Firefly would suit their special needs.

That people doesn't seems to be any more enlightened in future. Still believing in witches and stuff feels unfortunately very plausible at the moment...

"The girl is a witch. Yeah, but she is our witch" is good line that tells a lot about Mal and his loyalty.

Interesting that the game River and Simon are playing, that it's an alliance battle and features cannibals.

PETA would hate this episode.

I do love River dancing, it's the first time we really see her relaxed and happy.

Shepherd fast tracking his way into the alliance medical centre. I should read the graphic novel on him again.

Burn the witch! How quickly they went from celebrating having a doctor finally, to wanting to burn River, and Simon.

Yeah, but she's our witch.
