We've gotten a little behind, so here we go again. I know it's not one of the most brilliant episodes, but it does have it's moments! 🙂

I actually didn't mind this episode, although there were times when I felt sorry for both Buffy and Xander.

Basically Buffy seemed to have just found her feet AND a teacher who actually liked her, and then he was killed... Almost all the way through the episode I felt sorry for her. It just didn't seem fair and made me recall how bloody awful high school was!

Xander gained my sympathy because he was so naive!

This episode really portrayed the problems teenagers face with a twist of demon added.

I know this is a crap addition to this thread but I didn't want it to go undiscussed!

wow, being on vacation has made me miss a lot! lol
i don't particularly like this ep, but i don't hate it either. i felt sorry for Buffy when she found her teacher had been killed. he seemed to genuinly like her and he wanted her to do well in school. i found it really sad when she was sitting the the library and Giles hands her a glass of water and says 'Drink this' and she says 'No, thank you' but takes a sip anyway. i thought that really summed up how she was feeling.

i didnt really like this ep either! i mean its not one i would watch over and over again.. but its ok... if you watch it once in a while.. i didnt like the 'bad guy' in this one...

I know this is an old discussion, but I'm watching this episode right now, and like Summers Blood said...

It just really sucks that someone finally believed in Buffy...and then they get killed. 🙁

Not my favorite episode of all time...not a big Xander fan (at least the Xander in the 1st season) but I did enjoy it. I just keep saying...I love Willow!!

I thought this episode was one of the worst episodes ever. Probably the worst of the season (I'm not sure yet because Some Assembly Required was really bad too!) :|

I think the episode is boring and it's stupid... I mean, a teacher that in fact it's a BIG ugly bug? lol It does sound stupid. And i hate bugs they are so.. arghh!! Oh, and Miss French was really annoying. And poor Dr. Gregory! He was one of the few teachers who actually liked Buffy! And did I mentioned that I hate bugs??

Olddd thread, I know.

At the end of this episode they show the eggs that she'd laid (lain?) in the classroom... Whatever happened to them?! As far as I'm aware it never gets referenced again, are we just supposed to assume that they're destroyed off camera?

*confused head*

I took it to be like an X-Files ep, its left open, not all ties need to be um, tied?

Like the end of Out of Mind, Out of Sight..

I personally think that this episode was .. eh.
It wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst (there's no "worst" episode in Buffy)

Well, I liked the ep, as opposed to many above in the thread. I liked Musetta Vander (*meow!*) and that's perhaps why I cut this story some slack.
I also liked the supenseful, open ending...hoping that the 'children' would make an appearance to avenge the slaying of dear mum.

hehe such endings kind of remind me of the tv show : goosebumps by RL stine.
I don't know why I have this association. Just do..

LOL - what about other open ended finishes to episodes then? We never see what happened with Invisi-girl at the CIA. We never see what happened to 1,2,3 times a Fish Guy at the end of of "Go Fish." What happened after Buffy ditched her register at the Double-Meat Palace? Are there any others that I'm missing?

I think they probably wound up in LA with a lot of other nasties, we gotta think there's a big world out there.

hmm don't know bout them, but I just specifally get these assocation with this episode 😛
I just think it's goosebumpy like haha

The eggs that were in the end of the episode in Dr.Gregory's classroom..
How can they be growing ?
Unless he is a virgin himself, because she only goes after the virgins to fertalise (sp?) her eggs right ?
