Poor Monty. He even shaved his mustache for her. And we now know she's been "married" three times. Personally I expect you could add a 0 to the end of that. It seems to be her go-to move.
Many shows fall into a trap of having your heroes be too trusting. Not this group. They pretty much assumed betrayal from the beginning and planned accordingly.

Naked Mal, sitting on a rock in the desert, saying it went well. The evidence appeared to differ.
You could absolutely see "Saffron" showing up with Monty after the recap at the beginning. And she slips up letting Monty know she knows Mal's name.
Saffron has a cunning plan., and it looks like Mal, after a squabble with Inara, made the bad choice of listening to it, given the start.
The mark seems like a nasty piece of work. Only he is, yet another, husband, and not as nasty as it seemed.
Everything looks to have gone to pieces, after Saffron betrayed them. Only Inara had been placed to be ready for that, and [INSERT FAKE NAME HERE] was the one to pay. It did go well, as Mal said at the beginning.
Simon being scary to Jayne, until he isn't. Then River being definitely scary. Can she kill with her mind? I doubt Jayne will risk finding out.

Love these handy tech savvy people that can reprogram anything anywhere to do whatever in seconds. So convenient. 🙂
I like this episode it's a good heist episode with some fun twists and turns. It obviously works a bit better at the first watch when you don't know everything beforehand... but it still holds up imho.
