Quality is more important than length of time. And I haven't seen Val make any posts belittling someone else in this manner.

Mod status is not something we owe anybody after any length of time. Youthful exuberance and a genuine interest in discussing the shows with others and reading their views goes a long way.

And I believe Kean had only been here a month when we hired her...

Yeah, I was just coming to say this. I was only here 4 weeks when I was asked. Maybe people felt that was too early then? But like Darla said, modding really isn't about who is here the longest.

Val, and all the other new mods, will do wonderfully. Especially when they are surrounded by such a stellar team of mods that have been doing this together for years.

My mind went to you right away even if I wasn't sure exactly how long/short you'd been a member when becoming a mod.
Like I said - there was no offence intended, although offence was clearly taken. Just said it was bizarre. Unexpected. I don't really understand what mods do other than edit posts and pull people up on what they think is bullying or references to drinking so my opinion has absolutely NO IMPACT! I'm sure this person that I do not know will do a great job because just about every single mod you've chosen has been amazing!

If you don't know what mods do, then I suggest you keep your mouth shut on the topic and learn to censor yourself. And if you don't like how we do things here, you are free to leave. The only reply you needed to post here was a SINCERE apology for your insensitive behavior towards Val in it.

Coming to [MENTION=7407]caitaintdead[/MENTION]'s defense. I was thinking the same only because I am misinformed about how a mod is chosen. I'm sure Val will be a great mod and I wish her the best.

I think all this is taking away from the fact that Val has earnt their place as a mod by being a thoroughly nice person as well as contributing loads since their arrival here. I for one have noticed their presence on the board a lot since their arrival. This thread should really be about celebrating Val's new status not making people feel bad.

As Darla said it's not the place for it here.

Val, I'm 100% confident that you, as well as the other newly appointed mods, will do a fantastic job. You've impressed since the day you joined. Yes, that will be seen as sucking up to some. None the less it's true. To me.

Honesty can't be rude? That means bullying isn't wrong as long as it's honest....

Well let me just start by apologising. You are all lovely people and have absolutely beautiful souls because we all love Buffy and that's why we're all so amazing! I use a lot of far fetched analogies here and let me start this new chapter by offering you all a new one. Let us be sunflowers and open up to all the light in the world 🙂 🙂 🙂
