Coming to you LIVE from BuffyBoards Studios here in beautiful Sunnydale, California, it's time for the ultimate battle of the ships! We've got all of our favorite competitors here folks, as well as some oddball choices that are sure to upset the competition! Whether it be the Furious Fuffies or the Sadistic Spuffies or even the Bangel Berserkers, there's plenty of choices here! How does it work, you may ask? Well put away that popcorn and hold onto your overpriced seats, because here we go!
Starting today (February 14th, 2023), a voting thread will be posted in the Lover's Walk forum and will close exactly one week from its posting. We'll start the voting with a wide berth of choices, and everyone will have the opportunity to have up to 3 picks for the first vote. (As we go on, expect to see fewer allowed votes!) The top voted ships will continue to move on to the next vote. Ships that don't hit the voting quota will be "defeated" and will not move forward. Due to the popularity of Bangel & Spuffy, as the competition nears a close, votes may (if required) be weighed on a 2:1 scale to keep things fair and fun for other ships. (Ex. every vote for Spuffy and Bangel would count as half a vote.) Please note that this will only be done if the competition starts to become heavily weighted in their favor. If other ships are getting 0 votes, those ships will get the axe. Also note that there IS an option for non-shippers, so feel free to throw your hats into the ring as well!
Additionally, you may do some light trash talking in the comments of the thread if you so choose. If things begin to get a bit out of hand or get too rude, then this opportunity will be rescinded. Further issues or discourse over the competition may result in having to shut it down. (Please don't make me do that! We're all having good fun. 🙂 )
Well what can we win, you may ask. I'm glad you brought that up! The winning ship will receive a commemorative winner badge, announcing their ship as the certified victors of the 2023 BattleShip Beatdown. As a bonus, the winning ship will get a special "gloating"/celebratory thread announcing their win where shippers can come together and celebrate their hard earned victory.
