I'm SO glad I am not the only one that got pissed in Lovers Walk when they tricked everyone into thinking Cordy was dead, and then Buffy just CASUALLY mentions that she is going to be okay.

When I first watched this episode..I was CRYING. And then this happens. I was soooo freaking angry LOL.

I thought it was pretty cruel for Joss to do that to me. 🙁

Lol I remember that, I virtually flew from my couch going "Nooo", then big exhale. 🙂 I liked the casuality of Buffy's she's going to be ok though

I'm just starting to read these reviews (don't know how I ignored this thread for so long), so I just read this:
Secondly, Angel. Like, I have never really found David Boreanaz attractive personally, and what the hell happened to me? He puts on that smoldering look and I’m like DUDE DUDE DON’T DO THAT AROUND ME. I mean, I don’t want to marry him or anything, but he can give me that look any time he wants.
Yeah, you & me both dude.

I wasn't going to bother reading the comments, because really I figured they wouldn't say anything different then we all talk about here, but reading the pants comments is almost making me change my mind!

He's in the middle of season 3, right? Has he said anything about how he intends to proceed with season 4/Angel season 1?

So, I'm reading his review for Angel, and finally someone who puts into words how I feel about Joyce Summers!!

I haven't said much about her, but this is as good a time as any: Bless you, Joyce Summers. I'm beginning to truly enjoy Buffy's mother as a character because she is so realistically portrayed as a source of conflict, but not some evil force in Buffy's life. What's so honest about her character is that the show doesn't let us forget that she is genuinely trying to be a good parent. She's never too pushy, but she knows when to be firm. Even if she doesn't understand her daughter, that doesn't mean she has to insult her or condescend to her. The truth is that she really doesn't know her daughter is a slayer of vampires. How could she? Unlike "The Harvest," I felt the "end" to the vampire confrontation and Joyce's shaky memory was far more believable than the former's resolution. What makes me happy, I guess, is that she's not portrayed as a bumbling fool. She is clueless about her daughter's true nature, sure. But that's not something that a mother instantly goes to when her daughter is acting up, is it?

I mean, all Joyce knows is that Buffy misbehaved at her last school and burned down the gym in the process. She senses that if Buffy gets involved with the wrong crowd, she might relapse again. It's why she's so excited when Darla comes over, or when she sees Giles. It's important to note that throughout this all, Joyce never doubts Buffy's capacity for being spectacular, and it's what I love about Joyce the most. She doesn't think her daughter is a failure. She doesn't think her daughter is a bad person. At heart, she believes in her. That's a powerful thing to have from your parents, and it's something I didn't experience until after I was out of high school. When I did, though, that sort of inherent validation is a great feeling.
And I love that he loves Darla and regrets that she dies. But I'm also reading that he doesn't intend to watch AtS except for crossovers, and I'm thinking, "ooh, you're gonna miss some really good stuff!"

He thinks that the parallel universe in The Wish was completely pointless, if only he knew that it's actually quite important to the rest of the series. 😛 Oh well, he'll find out on his own later.

You should totally read the comments! There are some real gems in there. And some of the commenters are watching Buffy for the first time too (like enigmaticagentscully), and so they post their own mini-reviews down there as well.

I think he's only going to do the crossovers... Guess that means he won't be seeing Spike in AtS S5? Unless he decides to do AtS after Buffy, or just changes his mind.

I remember he said that when the time comes he'll watch ATS and BTVS alternatively!

Helpless is up...

I so forget that it seemed then, since he was fired, that Giles would actually be leaving... he says he'll hate Buffy's new watcher on principal...I can't wait because Giles is SO much more fun when he's mocking Wesley😛

I'm getting a bit bored of his reviews now, they don't even seem like reviews anymore, just him talking about himself.

He mentions his sexuality in every single review, which I find annoying, gay/straight, be whatever you want, but I don't need to be beaten over the head with it.

Just made a post about this on my LJ. His last review was 75% him talking about himself. And that was before he even got to the episode.

Agreed, I'm finding the 'reviews' boring too, now. The comments are much more interesting.

Yes I was about to write this yesterday, it's getting boring. Also it seems as if all the bad things in the world had happened to him...mmhhhhh don't know what to think.

I thought his Amends review was very well written. But I agree that his reviews tend to be hit and miss.

I like some of the comments. I tend to skip the angry comments with the caps lock, but the ones that look rational rarely dissapoint, there are great insight in them.

Yeah guys, I think I have to agree. I just skipped most of his Zeppo review because it was either yet another tangent on his life or it was capslocked. I enjoy a good capslock, don't get me wrong, but it has started to lose all meaning in his reviews.

Plus, does anyone find that he often completely misses or ignores the main themes and issues of episodes? Especially when he comes to experimental episodes like The Wish. Not only that, I find it really annoying that he often spends a significant portion of his review talking about how it could have been more about Cordelia. I love her, but these episodes are not her time to shine yet.

I've checked out his Doctor Who, Avatar, and Fringe reviews in addition to the Buffy reviews. His constant need to talk about himself, how gay he is, and how much his life sucks is extremely off-putting.

I've finally found someone more self-centered than Michael Ausiello. What a twist!

I don't really see a problem with him talking about himself, it is his blog afterall. It's not my favourite style of writing but it's clear he's writing for himself first and foremost, which is what it should be about anyway to be honest.
