Were Buffy and Tara shot in the same area?

Both Buffy and Tara were shot in the chest right? so would Buffy had died too if Willow hadn't saved her?

Or did Tara only die because it was a double shot?

If I recall correctly, Buffy was shot on the upper chest, off to one side, left, I think. A bullet there would penetrate a lung, which is serious enough, but not instantly fatal. Apparently, Tara was shot either in the heart or so near to it that the trauma caused it to rupture, which would ne almost instantly fatal.

Good answer, but I'd also add that since Buffy is a Slayer, she is stronger and heals faster, which might have contributed to her surviving that.

I'd say pretty much the same place

You're comparing the bullet entry wound on Buffy with the bullet EXIT wound on Tara, since her back was to the window. The bullet that struck her was traveling at an upward angle. Without seeing Tara's back, it would be impossible to tell the bullet's trajectory. but since her death was almost instantaneous, it would be fair to guess that the heart was either struck or severely traumatized by the bullet during its path through her body.
