Okay, I'm going to need a little more context -- what episode are you talking about? I don't remember a scene like this at all (admittedly because I haven't watched season 7 much).

The First appears to Buffy and morphs into Buffy's form, then starts quoting the Slayer mythology to her "In every generation there is a slayer, she alone will fight the vampires" etc. Then The First starts teasing Buffy about the word "alone", saying that Buffy is and always will be alone.

This is obviously what gives Buffy the idea of sharing her power. Hence "we're gonna win".

Good catch. 🙂 I just always figured Buffy had some sort of prophetic dream about winning the battle.

Like YummySushiPJs says I always thought it gave the idea of instead of being one alone, they'd all be chosen and fight at full strength. But also I took it as that encouragement you get from someone trying to put you off your game; if they were so confident you were going to lose, they wouldn't bother trying to undermine you; therefore there's a strong chance you could win.

Totally.
Buffy was in the basement when the First appeared to her.
The First left because Spike woke up. At that point Spike woke up, in those days he slept in the basement where the shackles were, not that he was kinky, tee hee.
His end of dream comment, (was something like) I'm drowning in shoes. (then) Weird dream!
Spike was the first person to talk to Buffy, also that Buffy regarded him as one of her main fighters.
