Question Were the Buffy versus Faith fights weak?

Since it is the holiday week around this place. I should be back on my computer next Monday.

I understand Buffy the Vampire Slayer was on network television during the 1990's and the start of the 2000's. Still, with all the level of woman versus woman violent we see on major movies and with cable channels: it begs the question that the fights between Buffy and Faith may look to be passive with todays standards.

My point being other then the one daylight fight between the women, were we seen more leg kicking misses and Faith jumping over the wall. Most of their fighting were during the night with very poor lighting. True, we understand it was stage fighting and the distance between the women was really father away from each other that they had little problem of really hurting each other. Still, it begs the question that the fighting looks to be weak in todays standers.

Am I the only person that has ask this question?
 
I don't think the fighting was weak. The fight scene between Faith and Buffy in Graduation is one of my favourite fight scene in the entire show, as is the fight scene in Enemies. What I love most is that when it comes to killing each other, they both hold back. I love the emotions behind the fighting.
 
They were good but I hated when you could tell they were using stunt doubles! Truth be told I think the fight scenes were better handled on Angel, though I'm glad they finally let SMG and ED do more of their own fighting in the later seasons.
 
The first fight scene in Revelations may have been weak, but I love the fights in Graduation Day and This Year's Girl.

Graduation Day was the most interesting. In fact, it is the most talked about on the internet. As there was better lighting during their fight with each other. And, it came to a final understanding who was stronger. The other fights ending with Faith running away and Buffy standing around questioning what to do next. In all other fights between women, I cannot recall someone that runs away and the other standing their in shock she won the fight. If you came after me, I would feel I could not run away from the fight. Or, feel you are going to run away from me. We are both adult women, were past the age of grade school and were far past the age of being 9 years old. And were past the age of pulling each others pig-tails and running away from each other.

Nope, I just find their fighting was interesting: but .....
 
Well, I think they may be comparably weak on a physical level, but not on an emotional level. And that's what counts in a character driven series. If I'm quite honest, I absolutely didn't watch the show (or any show, for that matter) because of action scenes.
 
The Buffy/Faith fights were very well done, in my opinion, considering the facts that there was a relatively short amount of time allowed to set up and choreograph the individual fights, plus the fact that both Sarah and Eliza had other things to do in addition to those relatively short fight scenes. As a result, the stunt directors had to rely heavily on stunt doubles, which tends to make the scenes less impressive, in my opinion. By comparison, I think that Summer's fight scenes in "Serenity," which were certainly better than anything Buffy, Faith, Angel, or Spike ever did on the two shows, and which she did almost entirely herself took several weeks, working full time, to set up, rehearse, and film, time that simply wasn't available on a TV series shooting schedule.
