Were they going to move Spike to Angel even if Buffy went for season 8?.

I read somewhere that Spike was going to move over to Angel even if Buffy went for season 8.
 
I think because at that point there was no possibility of a TV series Season 8. SMG didn't want to do it for starters. There can't be Buffy without Buffy.
 
It's my understanding that the only way that Joss could get a Season 5 of "Angel" was if Spike came over to the show. I don't think that "Buffy" ending the previous year had anything to do with that, or at least, I've never heard it mentioned anywhere before. (It would be fun to speculate, though, if Buffy had gone on for another Season, whether Buffy would have ever found out that her two vampire boyfriends were both in LA, and whether any sort of crossover would have been worked out between the two networks)

Yeah I heard that too. Its possible that Joss might consider that Spike had gone as far as he could on Buffy. I'm glad they did it anyway considering Spike and Angel's history.
