I wanted to know, when you first heard that we will be getting more Buffy but in comics format, after season 7 ended and they announced that Buffy will keep living and kicking, and before knowing what is going to happen in it, plot wise... How did you feel? Were you happy with the fact that Buffy continues slaying vampires or did you wish season 7 was the end of it? (and remember, I'm talking about before the comics started, just from the point you knew about the comics thing).

Well, I didn't get back into Buffy until last year, so I'm probably not your test audience lol. But we have to remember that Buffy has almost always lived in comics. Didn't the first one come out in 1998? But I know that you're specifically talking about Buffy living on in only a comic format, in an official "season 8". I'm a fan of the comics, so I don't mind it. 🙂

I was like, "Huh. Okay. Could be cool." I'm not a big comic reader; I have trouble with the format and don't always understand what's happening. But I planned to read it cause I figured it could be fun.

I was very happy when I first heard about it! ... I don't read comics ever, but I wanted the show to come back somehow, I wanted to know what would happen to the characters, so it didn't matter that it was in comics.

When I first heard about it, yes. It was pretty much immediately after I'd first finished the series, and I'd gone online and downloaded a few Buffy podcasts. They made the comics sound amazing, so I thought they'd be a worthwhile continuation.

How wrong I was...

Yes because I didn't want the story to end at that point, even if I wasn't a comic reader I was enthused that it lived on. (I'm less enthused now about the established continuation of s10.... guess it depends on how s9 goes)

Well at first, I was like "ok... whatever, I'm not going to read comic books." And then everyone on here kept talking about them and I was like "Ok... I'm going to read season 8." When I first heard about it, I didn't really get that season 8 WAS a canonical continuation of the story... So I wasn't excited or upset... I was like "whatever." After I figured that out though, I was excited.

Yeah! Although when I found out they'd already released most of them (I think they were just starting Predators and Prey), but I was still really excited. I'm glad I've started collecting them, they're of the high standard of the TV show, but I enjoy them, and I think that's all that matters.

Same with me. It took me a while to get use to reading the comic format and I still end up having to go through a comic more than once to catch everything, but I am having fun with it.

I didn't really give it much thought when I first heard about the comics. I'm not a comic-book fan, so for me the show was done - I didn't plan on ever reading the comics. Now I have the motion comic of the first half of Season 8, but I haven't watched it yet... I want to, but I'm not sure whether I will like the format. I doubt Season 8 will feel like a continuation of the show, but I'll hopefully get around to watching it to see if my thoughts are correct.

Say what you will and question my love for the fandom, but I actually didn't know about the comics until I joined BB. Then I went and bought all the volumes (minus the one that still hasn't been released) lol I was a bit skeptical about it at first. I only really bought the comics to be able to build my collection of BtVS stuff. Then I started reading it and I was more impressed than I thought I'd be (although I thought the plots and everything weren't canon) but now i'm re-reading it, and i'm appreciating it a lot more.

When i discovered season 8 was in comic book form i was overjoyed! In all honesty that was short lived. I read season 8 and i did not like the comics at all. I have liked previous Buffy comics but not season 8. I am wishing now that the show had ended at the end of season 7 and just not continued in any sort of written form at all.

I was ecstatic. If I could do back flips, I would have done back flips. 😛

I feel the exact opposite now. What a difference four years make.
