Wes and Lilah Why???

Ok sorry if this has been up before but I was Wondering why did Wes and Lilah get together (or whatever you want to call it)... ??? I was watching S3 of Angel and I just thought why would either Wes or Lilah want to be with the other they both seem to hate each outer. :: P?:: So why?? Hope you guys can help me out... :help:
 
was the question why THEY wanted to be "together" or why did TPTB (Joss et all) want them together? I mean I know why TPTB (TPTSY) wanted them together. THEY just happened don't know why.
 
I think Wesley needed an outlet after everything he'd been through and having no one. I think Lilah enjoyed the fact that she saw him, and possibly made him, get continuosly darker.

The reason they got together in the first place is that Lilah was trying to recruit Wes to join Wolfram & Hart and reveal the Fang Gang's secrets, after her failure to get Connor. Wes was in a state of depression over the Connor kidnapping and Angel's "attempt" to smother him in the hospital.

What started out as a moment of opportunity and seduction for one and desperation for the other, ended up as a very complex relationship. That is what made Wes and Lilah so fascinating.

Not all fans believed it was a complex and fascinating relationship, because many believe that romance should be fairy-tale in quality.

Hmm-mm! I thought they were written very well through the whole relationship.
 
More so than anyone besides Spike, Lilah and Wes had to totally change their personalities to become players in their respective fields. Wesley had to toughen up and become this gun totting killer and Lilah had to become as cold and dead as everyone else at W&H. I always saw them as having that in common
 
With her being so "cold & dead" inside, not sure if love was an option for her, but I think she did care about Wesley...more than she thought she could.
 
I think she did love him, but I think it was more complicated then that. Being the super-tough and probably very-scorned woman that Lilah had to become on her road to the top of W&H, I think it was very hard to admit this. She wouldn't even allow herself to believe she cared, and repeatedly double-crossed him in order to "prove" herself wrong in that respect.
 
I have to agree with you guys Lilah most likely did love Wes. And we can tell the Wes loved Lilah. But Lilah was "cold & dead" inside . And Thanks for the help..

This sounds like a contradiction. If Lilah had been "cold and dead" inside, then she would have never been in love with Wesley, in the first place. And judging from her behavior whenever she was around him, she had never struck me as being "cold and dead".



Lilah had only double-crossed Wesley once and that was in "Slouching Towards Bethlehem". And she was only able to double-cross him, because he tried to double-cross her at the same time.

Good point. Seems like she was far from cold and dead inside. Despite herself.

Actually, you could say despite herself . . . and himself. I think that both Lilah and Wes were afraid to acknowledge that they were in love with each other. Granted, they didn't act like teenagers in love, but as Wes told Fred in "Players", it wasn't all about "holding hands".
 
So was that it? That despite all their bravado, they were the only people able to see through each others facades?

What can I say? What did Lilah say to Wes in "Apocalypse Nowish" (is that the name of the episode?) - "I"m the only one who really understands you."

Was she telling the truth? Probably. I don't think that Lilah completely understood Wes. But I think she understood him better than anyone else in his life.
 
She understood Wes inside and out...that didn't sound right....

Well, in my opinion, Lilah is a goddamn *****. Her and Wes didn't belong together, and she knew it. I mean Lilah and Wes weren't even a cute couple.
 
They don't have to be a cute couple... they just have to have that... something... and I think they do. It's sort of sweet in it's own, slightly distressing way... And come on, how can you not love Lilah? 😀
 
She is EVIL! SHE IS AN EVIL FREAK WHO...nevermind. I'll just leave that sentence where I left it, for eveyone's sake.

I am not sure why I don't like her, but I know I don't like her.
