Wes & Lilah

I haven't seen much of Season 4, but what I have seen so far is strange. The relationship doesn't seem like they go together, just like they are both alone and they fall into place with one another. Maybe I am wrong, I don't know.

I am not a big fan of Wes/Fred though, I kind of liked Fred/Gunn, although maybe Wes/Fred wouldn't be too bad, but for now I would rather see Wes/Lilah.

I am a HUGE Wes/Lilah shipper, and proud of it. I am attempting to convert some people. So far, I have only been successful with my brother. We need more Wes/Lilah or just Lilah sites.

wow... I loved Wes/Lilah, I liked Wes/Fred more but I am suprised (I don't know why) that so many people do... I mean they are not my favorite *coughSpike/DruCough* but I still liked them... I usaly tend to sway toward "ships of evil"(my phrase for if one or more character is or was evil at one point) in the buffyverse 🙂 ... wait should I be proud of that? LOL

I'm a major Wes/Lilah shipper. I thought that Lilah was the best thing to ever happen to Wes. With her, he managed to develop as a character and become more self-assured. With Fred, he seemed to wallow in his illusions and depend upon her for his happiness. Fred may not be "evil" in the same context as Lilah, but she had never really empowered him the way Lilah did. In fact, I think that the Wes/Fred relationship was a sign of his regression from Season 4. And the way he had died in Illyria's arms, while she was disguised as Fred, seemed to be symbolic of how Wes had wallowed in his illusions at the end.

As I said on another thread Just a few mins ago, was NOBODY disturbed by the whole Wes/Lilah thing??

I found the Wes/Lilah relationship very interesting, in the same way I like Spike and Buffy--I've always been interested in dark relationships in television/movies. Actually, I remember when I saw the show some years ago and I saw her with Wesley, it really didn't appeal to me. It didn't like Lilah at all at the time but that was probably because I hadn't seen much of the show and didn't really know what was going on.

But after watching all of season 4, I found it enjoyable. It wasn't so much the fact that they were together that interested me but that I really did see some changes in Lilah because of her involvement with Wesley. She'd never admit it, but I really did feel that she was beginning to care for Wesley in a very genuine way, in a way that I never would have thought Lilah could. As bad as she was and claimed to be, I think Wesley was able to touch apart of her that no one else could reach.

One of my favorite moments was when Wesley saved her from the Beast and took her down to the sewers he chose to leave her there. But as he was leaving, she called to him and for a few moments hesitated before telling him that Connor was in the building. I originally thought that during those moments of hesitation she was going to tell Wesley how she felt about him because she certainly looked like that's what she was thinking. But then she faltered and jumped right to telling him about Connor.

I really did like this relationship because of the difficult aspect of it but mostly because I saw a new part of Lilah's character as a result of Wesley. And I thought it was interesting how Wesley seemed to have feelings for Lilah. He deeply loved Fred, I know that, but I think with Lilah--at that point in his life, when he was alienated from his friends and when Gunn and Fred were together, she was able to give him something that he needed, however twisted, and I think they both got something out of the relationship. Wesley's feelings for her really showed through when he was talking to her in his mind before decapitating her. And Lilah's feelings I think showed through when Wesley nobly tried to burn her contract but because of the deal, it couldn't happen. She was genuinely grateful for him trying.

I liked Wes/Fred, and Wes/Lilah, but Wes/Illyria, now that was worth tuning in for.

I thought almost all the love happening within Team Angel felt kind of incestuous to varying degrees.

Wes and Fred was weird cos Wes was so repressed/obsessed. But still...I was rooting for them in some kind of alternate reality where everything's normal...

For me, the only couple on Angel that made sense was Wesley/Lilah. I mean, some people would agree with the exception of Wes/Fred. I used to think I just didn't like them cuz I love Lilah/Wes, but I recently watched Smile Time and at the end when they kiss I got the reaction to vomit. But, see, the only relationship that didn't feel incestuous was Wes/Lilah. With the exception of Angel/Darla. And, maybe I just like the Wes/Lilah thing because I was royally irritated with Wesley until he became dark and stopped shaving. I have to say to all the Fresley shippers out there, you have to admit one thing...He dressed better when he was with Lilah. Come on, season 5, his big wardrobe stable was TURTLENECKS. And in SUMMER. In LA! Ugh... Also, I love the angsty stuff that I get with Wes/Lilah. My other fave couple is Giles/Jenny, so I guess I needed to balance out the fluff with angst.

I'll agree. Wes and Lilah, they were amazing. I'm on season 4 of Angel for the Third time around, as of now, and Lilah just died. I loved how they directed it, when Lilah was talking to Wes while he was working up the courage to chop her head off. And I agree, the sex is what makes their relationship so crazy and awesome.

Wes and Lilah wasn't really a relationship was it? Each using the other one, with Wes knowing that Lilah had sold her soul? I could buy that Wes perhaps held a small torch, but there's no way Lilah really cared, it was EWB, and lilah lilah lilah all the way...

ALthough when he chopped her head off, that was kind of cool. I was actually slightly surprised he did it, and didn't just wait to see if she "rose" or did somethign else...

ummmmmmm! It was a relationship. Lilah loved Wes, but Wes knew it could never be. Remember that scene where Wes slipped and said that it was a relationship and Lilah called him out on it, and he had to pay her a dollar! Lilah wanted to be with Wesley, but his love for Fred, and him knowing he had to do the right thing made him put an end to it! But it WAS a relationship, they had feelings for eachother and were seeing eachother for months... How could it NOT be?
