Weslah vs. Spuffy

For me it's gotta be Weslah. If you think about it, it was the healthier relationship...at least Wesley started turning to Lilah when all his friends had turned their backs on him, while Buffy was surrounded by her friends and really just lead this sort of secret second life 😉

But, I have to admit, Spuffy had a better base. The reason they started off was because they could understand each other and make each other feel. I guess that can be a strong connection. Weslah, on the other hand, didn't have any emotion between them in the beginning, Wesley's comment after they first slept together proved that. Their feelings only gradually developed. At the beginning there was really nothing at all.
Strangely enough, that's also a point for Weslah, though...because all this hate (at most! though rather even self-loathing and apathy towards each other) was what made Weslah so hot!

Something that makes me love Weslah more than Spuffy is how fun it was, considering the circumstances. They honestly care about each. Lilah would give him presents, checked to see if he was alright, he would rescue her, they would hug. 🙂 It was even cute, like how they made a bet about who would call their relationship a "relationship" first. Good stuff. Plus, it was really funny: "Oh look, a bribe. How thoughtful." (sw)

She even got jealous of him going to see Fred's presentation. That was very...human of someone so "evil". 😛

Well... Weslah didn't last that long. I mean, Spuffy to me was like 3 seasons long(and maybe a bit more). I didn't like everything about Spuffy, but overall it's what made me like Spike character more. As for Weslah, that took me by surprise at the time. But it actually made lots of sense, and it gave us a new view on Lilah which got me more interested in her character(I wasn't a big fan of her in the first seasons). Also Wes started being badass around that time so always a + =P The relationship just is difficult to compare to Spuffy. It was short and nice, but I don't think it would have ever lasted.

In conclusion i'd have to go with Spuffy(not that i'm a shipper lol) simply because the relationship went on longer and impacted on a lot of things. Hate it or like it, Spuffy bring a lot of reactions from everybody for sure haha!

You can't really blame them for the short run, though.
I'm convinced, if lilah hadn't died, they would've at least had an on-off relationship, especially after Lilah sort of 'joined' AI to fight the Beast.

In the s4 finale you could obviously see that they were in fact not finished.

I'm not sure how this has worked for everyone else so far, but just because you 'break up' doesn't mean it's actually the end.

I've only just started season 4 of AtS, so I can't yet judge Weslah as it's barely begun. But I really do love Spuffy. For now that's my answer. 🙂

I love Weslah, perhaps my favourite ship because they were so interesting, quirky, fun and sexy while I hate, hate, hate Spuffy.

For me it's all about the Weslah, or Wilah as I like to call it.

Both relationships deal with the corruption of an person on the side of good who gets involved with the enemy, initially because of loneliness and self loathing but then the relationships becomes something else.

What I do appreciate about Wilah is the complications and the mind games. Wes tries to play the apathetic dark warrior but he's actually not equipped for it. This mirrors Buffy. People talk about the passion of Spuffy but I have to agree with nay sayers who argue that it was killing buffy at the same time. As soon as she was able to reconcile herself with her actions, she finds that she cannot use people who have feelings for her, even if they don't have a soul.

Wes cannot be intimate with someone and keep his emotional distance. Lilah of course attempts to seduce Wes to evil but ultimately doesn't succeed. Although his methods are questionable (as they have often been) he doesn't cross over but the two continue their torrid affair.

I suppose what I like about Wilah is while Wes is tempted to darkness and Lilah displays more emotion than we've ever seen, ultimately none them truly make a moral change, which in an odd way I respect and enjoyed watching. The fact that in the end, he tried to save speaks volumes about his idealism (often connected to Fresley) but the reality is, you can't always save someone, especially from themselves. Lilah was never the damsel and takes full responsibilty for the decisions she's made in life. Part of the beauty about these two is that because of who they were, they never could have worked, but have an connection that is virtually unparalleled. I agree with Lilah, she knew him better than she ever will.

Although a Bangler I'm fine with Spuffy, they both needed it and it raised Spike up in the end to a higher purpose. But Weslah is terrific, just works on so many layers, the final scene where Wes decapitates Lilah (because thats true love) is possibly my favourite in all of Angel

Honestly, I was never a big Weslah person... Lilah was an evil cut-throat bitch. Wesley was... so majorly depressed and he bummed me out.

Spuffy was different. Spike was cool and on his way to being not evil and at the end of the relationship, he wasn't evil. Buffy was majorly depressed in season 6... but unlike Wesley, the turn of events that lead to her being depressed weren't her fault. Spuffy season 6 on Buffy's side was so that she could feel something... anything. Weslah was so that he could do something. Buffy had a life... a life she didn't want, but she had a life. Wesley didn't. He wanted a life and didn't have one. Their respective depressions were different. I honestly feel if Wesley had told someone about the prophecy and not tried to take Connor... it wouldn't have gone down with Wesley being exiled. Which means he did it to himself. If Buffy hadn't been brought back to life she wouldn't have felt as distant. It was done to her.

All of that on top of the fact Spike is my favorite fictional character ever... total Spuffy.

Neither character of Weslah is doing it do me. Not together nor by their own. IMO, AtS has ruined Wesley's character a bit. He made me laugh on BtVS, a little on Angel, in the beginning. But on AtS he became boring. He wasn't funny, and wasn't that interesting to me anymore. And it's a shame, because he was such a fun character in the beginning. But he did get hotter. Not that funny, but hotter.
And Lilah... I don't feel anything toward her. She wasn't the kind of evil I liked.
So both of them together, didn't to anything to me. I mean, they were fine, they were just there, I didn't hate them, as a couple or stand alones, but I really didn't see them as Spuffy.

At first, I didn't really like Weslah together. I just thought they were using eachother and there was no real love. On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with lust (sw). the more I watched the more I enjoyed watching them together.

^I like both couples too, but I'm more Weslah because my Weslah's number 6 on the list of my top 6 favorite ships of Btvs and Ats. Also, Welsey is HOT when he's with Lilah 🙂 !

But Spike and Buffy was different and unique too.

I didn't like Weslah. Even though Spike and Buffy could be really mean to each other I always thought they had a warmth in their relationship that Weslah never had.

You could see real clear hints of Lilah being warm and human to Wes, but the small, small crumbs of kindness she got back from him really wasn't enough for me to like the relationship, even though it was a little hot. The hotness totally got overshadowed by the fact that Wes was lame and tiresome and really shouldn't have been in a relationship. "Dark" men who use women 'cause their feeling bad - none for me thanks. Lilah deserved so much better.

Wasn't that Buffy who threw the grenade to kill all those bugs? And yea, I realize I replied like 2 years late, LMAO!
