Wesley at School

I've just finished watching S3 and it never occurred to me before that Wesley was always hanging around the high school. I mean, he even went to prom - without an official date. Unless he was Giles' date, lol.

It's weird that he would be allowed to roam around the high school, unsupervised, without having an official job.

So, what do you think? Did Wesley have a job at the high school? Counselor, English teacher, football coach, anything?

Most likely, he was employed as an Assistant Librarian, which would pretty much explain why he spent so much time there. (I wouldn't be surprised if Giles had worked out a deal with Snyder, allowing him to hire Wesley as an assistant at his own expense.) The way that Wesley was portrayed in Season 3, I find it doubtful that he would have been qualified to do anything else around the school.

I hadn't thought of that either. He had to have had a job at school though, or else I doubt he'd be aloud in at all (at least that's how high schools around here work). Assistant librarian makes sense to me.

I meant when Wesley was at Sunnydale. He was always in the library with Giles, he went to prom. He shouldn't have been allowed in Sunnydale Hight at all if he didn't work there.

I believe Giles says the he and Wesley are chaperoning the prom. It does seem weird that he is there, especially in Doppelgangland where he is just roaming the halls late at night before running into vamp Willow. It's weird that they are always at the high school late at night. Does Giles have a key to the school or is it never locked? Obviously there is no security system. I assume Wesley is an assistant to Giles either that or Snyder just doesn't care who is on campus or if Giles has a friend during school hours.
