What are people oppinions of the road Wes has been sent down. I hated the guy in buffy and as a replacement for Doyle but I grew to like him and now this. Do people think he will be able to go back eventually, or that he is never going to be welcome back.
Considering I completely understand why he did what he did i think that the gang are being way too harsh on him, even Angel is.
 
i agree stormwolfe, i mean it was a mistake. the prophecy was fake, and after angel heard it ws fake, it went postal on wesly trying to kill him in a hostpital. angel would have probly done the same thig, if we were in wesly's shoes....
 
I guess so, though Wes might have considered talking to AI instead of Holtz and his gang!
 
Gang are way to harsh on him, WWP has really helped the show, hes a great actor and i want him to have a bad spell but save the day in the finale.
 
Well the Gang being Harsh on him, has nothing to do with his acting preformance. Maybe it's just his acting talents that conviced Joss, there's more in Wes than just a good guy!
 
Have you ever noticed that the only in that place that knows what is going on is Wesley? And they tell him to take a hike...so typical...
 
Angel was in a violent rage, but it was *his* baby, and the parent/child thing is really strong and not entirely rational.

What I could never figure out was why Fred, Gunn, and Cordy just abandoned Wesley. They could have been discreet about seeing him, driving him home from the hospital, etc., without rubbing Angel's nose in it.

Fred and Gunn were all desperate to find Wes and sympathetic in the hospital until Angel tries to kill him, then it's total ostracism. Cordy won't talk to him because "Angel comes first". What about 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc...?

And, yes, they *really* need this guy.

It all seemed rather forced in, just so that there *would* be a total split with Wesley, which was necessary for later story arcs or something.

But he indeed is the only one, who knows what's really going on! Like Giles on Buffy! Must be some watcher thing!

To quote a friend of mine, "The first time I really knew I had it in me to kill another human being was after my first child was born, and I realized I had to defend her at all costs."

And maybe the title "Watcher" is more symbolic than we think; maybe they're trained to be much more "big picture" oriented than the glorified Slayer baby-sitters and walking reference book aspects of them we usually see...
 
I see your point, but then again with the father analogy, the whole abduction of Connor. He then knew at front he would never be part of AI again, since a child is someone's most worthfull posesion and him knowing the big picture, he knew Angel would never forgive him!
 
given the big picture, Angel should forgive wesley. i don't think i would be very happy with the scenario but knowing that someone acted in what they believed to be the best interests of the child...it's time to forgive.
 
I think it's a great thinng that we're now getting to see a much darker side to Wesley, a side which is alot more stronger then the Wesley we first met in Sunnydale.

Have you ever thought... that maybe he's 'joined' Wolfman and Hart to destroy them from the inside? It's a concept I have always thought about...

I would just love to see the know Wesley meeting up with his father...and seeing what he would do. Would he still be scared of him or will he have grown from the experiances of Season Three and ofocurse the other Seasons, and be able to stand up to him? Also, what would the guys of Sunnydale and The Watchers Council think of the new Wesley?

Did I just go way off track?? 😀
 
I guess it's indeed to destroy them from the inside out, however though Angel may want to forgive Wesley, it appeals to me, that Wesley doesn't want to be forgiven .... why?

- Maybe he can't forgive himself for abducting Connor!
- Maybe otherwise he can't destroy W&H from the inside out!
- Maybe he knows something about the apocalypse, that keeps him away from AI.

I totally agree. I mean there could of been something about the apocalypse that Joss decided to leave out till much later, and maybe he intended that Wesley knew about it, but we as the audience don't actually get to see it. About being forgiven, maybe he still has that feeling of failure from SeasonThree Buffy and Season One Angel...and still carries it as a burden.
 
Hmm still not forgiven for failing on Faith sounds a little far fetched to me. He was over that in S2 and the beginning of S3! So why would he mid-S 3 worry about it again!?!?!

Maybe Wesley's just... moved on. Like being dumped by a guy in high school, then seeing him at the 5th Year Reunion and he's apologising all over himself for being such a cad, while you're thinking, "Gee, the line for the Ladies room has doubled in the past five minutes. Good thing I only had one cocktail..."

Or maybe Wes only *thinks* he's moved on. His reaction to Lilah's double-double cross and what happened to Lorne showed a chink in the armor, as did his gentle protectiveness of Fred.

I think that eventually he will return to AI, but it will take time. I think right now he sees himself as *independently* working for the Powers That Be, but his relationship (if you can call it that) with Lilah is beginning to stop being a game for him. The stakes are getting too high.
 
I won't get season 4 for a while yet but, does Angel still think that Wesley was meeting with Holtz to plan Connor's kidnap? If so I can totally see Angel's point of view. Maybe when he finds out that Wesley was taking him after being given Holtz's ultimatum he would forgive him... If that's the case.

Wesley wasn't even sorry when he knocked Lorne out though, he just did it & left with Connor.

It is strange that the others have totally ostracised him, especially Fred who seemed to understand. And that Gunn who was such good friends with Wes (fighting buddies etc) and had said he'd never be friends with Angel - chose Angel over Wes. He's human & makes mistakes after all.
