"Wet Hot American Summer Fantasy Camp is the first officially licensed game based on the comedy-film-turned-Netflix-series about the kids and counselors at a raunchy summer camp. The tabletop game, which features caricatures of the film’s many stars — including Amy Poehler, Janeane Garofalo, and the unaging Paul Rudd — is a bit more complicated than what you’ll find in your parents’ board game closet.

The game is a fantasy role-playing tabletop game for three to five players, a la Dungeons & Dragons. You can choose from favorite established characters (ahem, Andy) at Camp Firewood, or make up a lovable new dweeb and a brand-new camp. It also includes new material from Wet Hot American Summer writer and director David Wain, and cast members Joe Lo Truglio, Marguerite Moreau, and Michael Ian Black.

It’s meant to be a little easier on tabletop newcomers. The game promises “less math than traditional RPGs and more emphasis on storytelling and party game craziness,” which equates to more camp-like activities and less monster fighting. Humor-based press The Devastator is releasing the game, but fans can back the project on Kickstarter now. The campaign ends on May 18th, and early copies are scheduled to begin shipping in August."

*snort* Not surprising.

There are RPG's out there to simulate pretty much any genre or situation; the market's very versatile.

Andy!?
Go Gene, or go home

If I was a game person I'd be more excited for this chance to play Gene. For now, I'll just rejoice in that others might if the kickstarter works out for them 🙂

Well that's pretty cool, but to really bother with something like that I would have to be a massive fan of the show itself, otherwise its like being a nerd just for the hell of it😉

By the way isn't that the guy out of Law & Order: SUV in Taake's clip?😀

I watched the film which I enjoyed. But hey life keeps getting in the way!😀
Oh so you were just pretending not to recognize the character from the movie so you could make a Law & Order: SVU reference. Ok. Gotcha. 😉😵🙄

Clearly you never got around to actually "watch it soon" as you said. 😉😵🙄

Knock what off?

No, I hate 🙄 and 😉 as much as I hate "kewl" "TXT" talk. At least we have a rule against U people and UR abbrev.

Just need to ban them damn smileys too!

It's pretty clear your posting in this thread turned rather passive aggressive as indicated by tone and base on usual style of posting.

Not at all. I was being humorous. Maybe you only read it as passive aggressive. The member made a comment before that they were going to watch the show. I merely joking said they must never gotten around to it. You can tell it was a joke because of the smileys. I think you might have misunderstand my posts. I was merely trying to assimilate myself to how the normal people talk. I still hate the smileys but if people use them to convey humor then I will start to do that as well.

I suggest maybe practice your mimesis on a member you have less of a history with then.

Just admit you judged me wrong 😉😵🙄

I don't believe I did. I don't really buy it, I think you are accumulating different things (like excuses people make) as seen around here and constructing a game out of it, that's why there's a distinct whiff of "I've heard this before" about post 11.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Even if they are wrong in this instance. 🙂
