My favorite is 50's, 60's rock but I also like country, blues, and 40's swing, and pretty much everything else. I'm not into rap or hip hop thought. I don't have anything against it, it's just my thing.
In playing in bands for some 30+ years you learn to put your personal feelings away when called to play songs you don't like. Funny thing though, they always don't seem so bad when I'm playing them rather than just listening to them on the radio. Having an open mind has always been the best way for me to deal with it. It also helps keep the piece between band members.

40's swing im intrueged, you mean the usaf war songs?
Two weeks ago you would have got a very different answer from me. Now my brain is just one man, all of the time. So many previous fandoms have ended prematurely when I got teased or in trouble. I am committed to enjoy this one until it runs its course!

Oh, no video!
I like many kinds, though I particularly favor dark wave. I also find songs and music I like among symphonic metal, pop, country, folk, even jazz (jazz is rare for me, but I can intensely like it the rare times I indulge so it gets a nod here). Though I only rarely listen in the last few years, I've greatly enjoyed romantic classical like Liszt and Chopin.

I'm also a fan of Nox Arcana which I understand has become one of the rare dark wave bands to become popular in the mainstream, if only for Halloween.

I tend to favor music from the 80s and 90s. I became less obsessed with music by 2010 and stopped looking for anything new (though I might stumble across something now and then), so most of my music will be 1990s and 2000s with a nod to the 1980s.

I like something in pretty much every genre of music I've listened to, though I do have my favorites. I tend towards various types of rock (oldies were my primary listen when I was young), and among my list favorites are country, rap, and heavy metal, though even in those genres there are some I enjoy. I suppose the best thing to do would be to just offer a selection of various favored singers and bands.

Rosemary Clooney, Marilyn Monroe, Three Dog Night, The Monkees, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, The Calling, Blondie, Joan Jett, Queen, Ghost of the Robot, Fastball, Kirby Krackle, Michelle Branch, Bree Sharp, the Spice Girls, Lila McCann, Shania Twain, The Wallflowers, Matchbox 20, Powderfinger, Gorillaz, Linkin' Park, Bob Dylan, Eminem (early stuff), Pete Murray.

To name just a few bands / singers I love.

Not just those but 40's style jazz and swing in general like Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Harry James, Dorsey Brothers. Why you ask, are you a fan of that era as well?

I checked and the Hawkwind video played okay.
I like a lot of different music, though I lean most toward rock. Many different subgenres and eras of rock though, some favorites are Evanescence, Green Day, Linkin Park, Muse, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and Fleetwood Mac. Some less popular bands I quite like are Rosegarden Funeral Party, The Pretty Reckless, and New Years Day. I recommend checking out Pretty Reckless if you like rock music, they're actually opening for AC/DC on tour! My dad likes them as much as I do and he has a very similar music taste to you @machinewolfhear

Outside of rock I listen to some more recent softer pop/alternative like Lana del Rey and Florence and the Machine. Fun fact: Florence actually has a song based on Buffy!

My taste in music is music! I listen to a little of everything. And what I have on at any given time usually depends heavily on my mood.

These are two songs that are always on my playlists with lots of different types of music in between, this should give you a little insight as to how varied my taste in music is.

Also, I wanted to take a moment and give a shout out to our resident Taylor Swift fan, @Anyanka Bunny Slayer . She is the definition of a dedicated swiftie! 🤭

Bold choice, but I support it. 😉

Same here, though I do have my tendencies. I definitely have soundtracks for various moods. I have a wakeup playlist too. A lot of references to coffee on that list.

Barbie Girl. 1997. That takes me back. When that came out, I was in grade—never mind. Moving on. 😛

Does this mean I shouldn't tell Anyanka that I've never really listened to a Taylor Swift song?

I’m not a huge music expert, but over the last few years I’ve started appreciating music a lot more. I enjoy a bit of everything as long as it sounds good to me. I’ve even started going to local jam sessions, which has made me appreciate music in a different way because I’m seeing people create it rather than just listening.

My tastes are pretty varied, though I tend to lean more towards rock, pop, and folk. Some artists I enjoy are U2, The Corrs, Neil Diamond, Coldplay, Avril Lavigne, and others. I’ve also recently started appreciating artists like Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen more. I think I understand their songwriting better now than I would have when I was younger.
