“What a Dream! What a weird dream that was,” said Buffy.

The ringing of the phone woke her up, Buffy heard Willow’s voice talking to her, she vaguely remembered hanging up the phone at the correct time. Because now when she thought about it she couldn’t think what Willow had said to her. Buffy’s concentration lay elsewhere. She knew the dream she had just woken from had some significance. She desperately wanted to remember the details of her dream. She leant from her bed in her pyjamas and telephoned Willow to ask her for her help, she wanted Willow to tell her if there was a way to help her remember or relive her dream. Willow told Buffy not to worry about it, if she needed to know about the dream she would remember it the same way the rest of humanity remembered their dreams.
“Later on when your mind is not live with the thoughts of what the dream was you might think of it,” stated Willow.
“About that, well about what you said when you rang me, what did you say?” asked Buffy. “I rang you to remind you what we and Giles are doing today. Driving to an agreed hotel where we are going to meet Wesley,” said Willow.
“We are, why?” asked Buffy.
“We are going to try and tell ourselves who created the slayer line. You do remember the part about Giles being here at eight forty five don’t you?” asked Willow. Buffy casually looked at the clock on the wall. “Eight fifteen! Oh crap.”

Two hours later Giles drove up into the driveway at Buffy’s house, when he had cleared the rear seats Willow and Buffy put their books on it ready for them to leave. As they were about to get in the car Buffy looked at her watch.
“Eight bloody forty five indeed.” Buffy mumbled some colourful words to Willow.
“Yeah sorry about that,” Willow started to grin, her grin fast stretched as wide as it could across her face and she flashed her eyes to Buffy, “I thought about it and admittedly it sounded funny in my head so I said it, I couldn’t resist it, sorry.”

At the hotel halfway to LA they met Wesley, he had prepared the room for them. They had just sat down at the table in the middle of the room when Buffy announced about the dream she’d had the night just passed. “It was about the Son of the Devil’s vampires in hiding, where they were and how to get them.”
“See, I told you if you thought about something else you’d probably remember,” said Willow.
Wesley sat at the table, he told them he would take as many notes as he could and whatever they thought was relevant. He watched as they joined him at the table. He asked Buffy to be precise with what she expected to discover.

Buffy sat back into her chair, thought about what she really wanted then stated that she sought answers to who or what had caused the slayer to be. Buffy said about the times she had died and been brought back to life, even those times when she thought there was no reason how she could have been. The first time had caused her much concern. How after a vampire had drained her then dropped her face down in water, she said she was glad Xander had saved her but she wanted to know how. Then there was the reasoning of what she was, because she had died another bore the title of The Slayer.
“Those things being so, why was I allowed to keep the abilities of a slayer, and to say that three men created the slayer line seems odd. If they had written it down it would have taken them several days to get all the clauses correct.”
Buffy wanted to know if there was more to being a slayer. Wesley looked at Willow he started to recall one of the teachers during his time at the training facility, she had welcomed peoples thoughts of what was and what could be. He remembered the teachers opening comment one of those days.
“It was about how a slayer would retain her strength, her knowledge and her abilities for all her life, that the slayer could live a full life to three times a score and ten more years unless a vampire killed her.” Wesley looked to Buffy, “And if that is true the master in his wisdom only took as much as he needed, he said that the slayers blood was much more potent than any other humans. He could have taken what he needed and left you for dead without the need to drain you completely.”
Willow added that it could have been a ‘ died from drowning’ incident. Buffy nodded to her in agreement.
“That may have been the reason but it doesn’t explain how I kept the slayers attributes. To my way of thinking there has to be more,” said Buffy.
Willow looked to Wesley wanted to know if he had any notions on who The Powers That Be are?
“Personally I see them as a coven of seriously powerful witches, wizards and sorcerers who have taken the craft to an infinite possibility,” said Willow.
Wesley looked to each of the three of them, he was thinking about what had just been said. “It could be the Powers That Be running the slayer line except for one thing, and I’m not sure about this but was the slayer created first and that being so was the slayer created in case there was evil in the world. Or was she created second because there was evil in the world? The same thing could be asked of the ultimate evil did that come into being as a result of the slayer.

“Or if we say that another way,” Willow grinned to Buffy, “To put the first option as the one that was, the slayer may have been the first human on earth. The second option would have the first slayer up against as many demons as there are now,” Willow looked at Buffy and flashed her eyes, “You slacker.”
“What, me?” Buffy exclaimed and poking her tongue to her she gave Willow the middle finger. “You can’t blame me I am only here as the acting slayer because the actual slayer, Faith, has other things to think of.”
Buffy faced Willow and mulled over in her mind what Willow’s last comment was. “You do have a point though, about the slayer being the first human on earth. That would mean she was one of God’s creations. I don’t pay any heed to the Devil being the ultimate evil as I see that as a non-corporeal entity. As far as my memories go God caste out one of his Angels and that Angel became the Devil. That would infer the Devil is a corporeal being so if the Devil created a son, the Son could be non-corporeal,” said Buffy.
“Yeah, about that,” stated Giles, “There is some thought about that, a battle has been running alongside what we have experienced. A battle between good and evil and according to my source that battle will be coming to a head soon she, my source has it that another hellmouth might be getting active soon.”

Now watch season 7
Maybe, possibly, if I get ‘round to it this tale might be continued.

Timeline: Right at the end of season 7, the last few scenes shown on television after they had got off the school bus, they all saw the total devastation behind the school bus and stared at the massive hole that was where Sunnydale used to be.
Giles went to stand side by side with Buffy, they watched and waited until after the others had climbed back on to the nice yellow bus. Giles glanced to Buffy then resumed his empty stare at the hole.

“Giles that other hellmouth, do you think they need, or would like any help, you know our help?” asked Buffy hopefully. His eyes wandered towards Buffy. “The one in Cleveland, no that one should be alright, my source was referring to another one, in England not far from the ones by Cheddar Gorge. She also said of two vampires rising from the bowels of the earth, somewhere near there,” said Giles.
“These vampires what are they like?” asked Buffy.
Giles was quiet, he had no answer for Buffy. He had no answer that spoke of them all he had been told was of them rising. “I’m sorry to lay all of this on you but there is another, but no one knows where she is. There is also witch who escaped from a prison of sorts all I know of her is her name, Vizarnia.” Buffy could tell from Giles’s stare that he was worried so she tried to allay his fears. “It is okay Giles I will take Willow with me, she is the most powerful witch I know,” said Buffy. Giles looked to Buffy and smiled.
“I know you are trying to cheer me up, my source keeps finding untold truths. What she has learnt recently would make the Codex read like a children’s book mere nursery rhymes to appease the unwary,” Giles slowly turned until he faced Buffy, “and the thought of Willow against that Vizarnia, even when Willow was in the darkest of her days and about to destroy the world? She would last a second, maybe two against Vizarnia. But we should go there, and find the good guys you might even get some answers about who created the slayers. Bring Willow by all means, I dare say those in the coven would like to meet her again,” said Giles.
Buffy saw that Willow was stood by them. “Well that sounds good to me.”
Buffy shrugged her shoulders to Giles. “So where do we have to go?”
Three days later they walked to Giles’ old house, the door opened and Miss Harkness waved to them, as she crossed the lawn towards them Willow let out an ear piercing scream, she grabbed at her head and fell to the ground. Buffy Giles and Miss Harkness were with her almost instantly. No sooner that Miss Harkness touched Willow her body recoiled. Giles looked to her he wanted her to tell him what just happened. Willow stood up, she looked to Miss Harkness. “I felt it Buffy, I felt the power build in me, I can see it growing, it is real, it is here, returned.” Neither Buffy nor Giles knew what Willow meant. Tentatively Miss Harkness knelt next to Willow and Giles, about to talk to Willow Giles noticed the flowers rising from the ground all around them. “I was right Giles, before, but I gave the wrong reason. It is true,” Willow placed her hand flat onto the ground, “everything is connected Giles, but it is not connected to who the earth,” she looked into Giles’ eyes, “These flowers, these Paraguayan flowers Flora Kua Ulaya. Everything is connected Giles,” her eyes closed to be like slits, “not to the earth though, it is connected to, one like me.” Miss Harkness waved to Giles he shot a glance towards her. “What is it?” he asked. Then faced Willow, her eyes were normal he could see she was the Willow he knew again. “Giles the others in the coven said about a great one returning. That other one though she is not a witch though she is what all witches are from,” said Miss Harkness. Giles breathed in deeply, “Vizarnia, oh God but I thought she would be against Willow, I don’t understand that.” They both looked to Willow. “I am a witch, born of many witches but when I touched her I felt that she is not like us anymore oh. If Willow is not like us anymore she is like her, that other one you said and that she must be near. Giles I need to go to my sisters,” she glanced to Willow, “now I know why we were always so scared of her. I’m sorry Giles I have to go, l need to learn where that other is, why she has returned.”

As Vizarnia wandered along the road she glanced at either side of the road. Where she walked it was once was once a track for horses, once where she now walked it was through a forest. To see old cottages either side of a tarmac road, she was lost she stopped wondering why she looked at the gate of the home she was near. The feeling she felt, it reminded her of the past, she remembered where she was, it was, but why she remembered the town, that escaped her. Was it something that happened or was it a person who was there, why did she have a memory of the name Oakley Ford once again Vizarnia faced the cottage. She walked to the front of the house and reached for the door knocker.
In the front room Fawn was sat at the large desk set back from the window. She had been there all morning she concentrated on the words she typed so much that she did not hear anything in the room, except the manuscript for her next book. In front of her were three monitors computer screens each with a version of what she wrote had just written. Belinda was sat opposite reading one of a pile of reference books.
Belinda looked up she leant forward to Fawn. “Didn’t you hear that?” Fawn saw her face above one of the monitors. “Sorry, did you say something?”
“The front door, there is someone at the door didn’t you hear the door knocker, it isn’t that quiet,” said Belinda, she saw surprise on Fawn’s face. Fawn opened a drawer in her desk and took out her appointments book and opened it to the latest page. “I thought I’d made no bookings for today. I doubt it could be a friend my only friend is her.” Belinda smiled. “Flattery will get you anywhere.. oh, you want me to answer the door, I should have guessed.” Belinda stood and went out of the room, she soon returned with a pretty young woman. Fawn looked at the visitor she wondered who would wear such an old fashioned dress though she did like the simple colours the large blue and white squares were simple yet easy to look at. Fawn looked at her but couldn’t think of her name. “I’m sorry I do not seem to recall who you are, have we ever met?”
Vizarnia faced her, apologized to her for being in her home, she turned to focus on Belinda. “Do I know you?” asked Belinda.
Vizarnia looked to both of them, neither of them was known to her. “Neither of you do so I can’t explain why I am here, but something is here something drew my attention to that the something that is in here.”
“There is one thing, a coincidence, you don’t know us and we don’t know you,” said Fawn.
Vizarnia listened to the warning bell that had just started to ring in her head. “There is no such thing as a coincidence, that is what they would say, a coincidence always refers to a reason that needs to be found.” Fawn liked her words of wisdom.
“Now that is good, can I use that in my book,” asked Fawn, “I’m trying to write a book called Witches and Witchcraft, I’m looking at the question of do they really exist.”
“I belong to a coven near here,” said Belinda, “I have been told by members of the coven that we took the name of witch and added the term craft though we all hope to be like the original one, a controller. But we are having problems finding who started the covens, finding even a reference to that has been a waste of time,” said Belinda.
Vizarnaia crossed the floor and sat in a chair, she looked to Belinda. “One of your ancestors helped me once before, hopefully you can help me now. Do you know of a town called Oakley Ford? The name has meaning for me though I am unsure why. In return I can give you the answers you are searching for.” Belinda looked to Fawn, she shrugged her shoulders. She smiled to Vizarnia. “I can take you to Oakley Ford I go there at least once a week, er friends meet there at another’s house. A kindly old lady lives there with her cat, just love her cat.”
It all began to make sense to Vizarnia. The old lady, her cat and the farmer who lived over the hill. Vizarnia once knew Aurora and her cat as friends, they were nice people. That was about four hundred years ago, the farmer wanted to make a new rose for the woman who was to be his wife. His first attempts were to make a pure black rose but all his attempts produced roses with flashes of dark purple so he stopped trying, instead he attempted to make an ice white rose. The first attempts lasted for two years then he created an ice white rose, the perfume was sublime. To celebrate the rose he changed his name from Michael Thorn to one that his new wife to be would like taking from words that described the rose, it being such a beautiful thing, though it was as white and pure as an iceburg the rose was not cold. They chose a doubled name of Rose and Burg but the people at the church had never used a hyphen before. They knew it wouldn’t be the same to use the word ‘and’ it was eventually planned to use apostrophe n apostrophe but in the rush on the wedding day they missed off the apostrophes. Instead of the family name being Rose’n’ Burg they were married under the name of Mr and Mrs Michael and Seraphin Rosenburg. Seraphin proudly held the bouquet of that pure white rose through the wedding even during the celebrations afterwards.

To Be Continued is now continued

What Buffy’s dream has led them too.

On the day they went to Aurora’s home the sky was clear of cloud, the sun allowed its warmth to rain on the land. The old lady came from the doorway of her cottage as they approached, she waited at the garden gate as they got out of the car. Seeing who it was the old lady turned to look at the open door of her cottage. “Jenga, look who is here!”

Just beyond the edge of the forest Aurora’s cottage was in, Giles was there with Buffy and Willow, he had taken them to meet an old colleague of his, a watcher. That and he wanted them to see the beauty that was sung about in the song, ‘English Country Garden’.

Belinda knelt and began to stroke Jenga, as she did Fawn noticed Vizarnia smile at them. “What?” she asked but her question was ignored.
If you only knew about Jenga
“Does the Oak tree do as I wanted it too?” asked Vizarnia. Aurora stepped towards the oak tree. “It does, but I could only put four here, the last of them was from a hundred and twenty years ago. There is one more though, she is still alive she could be hard to find, I tried to locate her but she has kept, I’m not sure. Either her position is fluid or she is with another who is facing what you spoke of. The last time I felt of her you were in that prison, I don’t know what or how, I don’t think it came from her though I have no idea where it came from. But it was at that point her element began to seep into her.”
Vizarnia looked to Aurora. “I have felt something I thought it was because of you or the tree but not of Jenga. I never allowed myself to even contemplate the fifth might be near, if the element has leaked enough into her, it will depend on her will, but there might be two. It is a big ask though. We’ll need to use your basement to initiate a call.”
Aurora asked Belinda to be with them then apologized to Fawn, she explained that someone would need remain in her front room, should a visitor come to the door.
In the basement Belinda sat and watched them, she thought she understood what was for they did not perform a spell, it was more that control of the space between them bent to Vizarnia’s will, the air between Aurora and Vizarnia began to glow as a minute sphere occurred, it grew to encompass that space then disappeared into itself. The call had been to raise the four dead people who were buried about the Oak tree. It was also an invite to the fifth.
Belinda began to realise how much more there could be when some thirty minutes later those four people walked into the basement. Each of those four people looked as though they had been playing in dust and soil for hours.
“That was the difficult part, for the next part I will simply take from them what I placed in an ancestor of theirs. Each one has one of the elements, earth, air, fire and water. She with the fifth element has been called, my power my control with each of those four elements will be great but the fifth element will create each of the four to be extreme.”
Belinda watched in silence as Vizarnia withdrew with metaphysical forces the element each of the girls held.
“I’m sorry if I am disturbing you but what will happen to them, after what you are doing has finished?” asked Belinda. Aurora smiled it appeared to be the smile only an old lady could smile. “They will get to use their free will again, to live in a world where everything is new or die. If they choose life I will teach them.”
Belinda accompanied Vizarnia up the stairs then with Fawn they went outside to sit on the lawn. They’d been there for an hour before a group of people began to arrive. Belinda knew none of them, about to ask Aurora who they were Vizarnia welcomed each of them.
“Interesting bunch of people aren’t they especially when you consider that two of them are local, from the village of Oakley Ford,” said Aurora.
Vizarnia looked to them. “A husband and wife, the local people Vizarnia looked to the wife odd you are a watcher why are you here,” Vizarnia looked to Giles, “and so are you, why are you here unless,” she looked to Aurora then Buffy, “well I’ll be, a vampire slayer.” Buffy stepped back. “How did you know what I am?”
“Easy the feeling I get when I see a vampire slayer even one as lowly as you, it is a nice feeling I get a warm glow inside, I love that feeling when a vampire slayer is near,” said Vizarnia.
“You make it sound as though you have met another and recently,” said Buffy.
“If you have met another slayer, where was that?” asked Giles. “That is an odd question, but if you do want an answer it was on a hill overlooking the farmhouse, that is where I was when I was with the slayer Kallum.”
“Kallum? that isn’t right, the slayers are all girls,” said Buffy. Vizarnia stared at Buffy. “What I just told you is the truth, do not pretend that I am telling you lies. I do not lie. So accept I know more than you, even though you have great power for a human it is nowhere near as much as me. I can see in your mind you have heard a warning of me, so heed it, if you do I’ll tell you more. But just so that we are clear, and you think our knowledge is equal, I know your name so you should know mine, it is Vizarnia.”
Giles put his hand onto Buffy’s shoulder.
“Pay no heed to the watcher, you do not need to run, you just need to listen. If you choose not to believe me that is your choice, but keep what I say to yourself. Now about the other vampire slayer his name is Kallum, he is like the other, I didn’t know her at all, her name was Kallis,” she looked to Giles who tried to get her attention, “what?”
“Excuse me but there have been many vampire slayers, I know that, I look after them, into each generation one is born,” said Giles.
“I wonder who said because it isn’t true when a slayer dies another becomes. There could be many in any generation. Some are brought back to life,” she faced Buffy, “even though she does not know why. What you don’t understand about slayer lore is that there two kinds. Those that are human and those that are not, Kallis and Kallum are not, Kallis was then God took her after she died and gave her life. Kallum had to wait until his host died before he was born. What he did first was to revive his host. Now he fights for God to end the evil, as do you just because you are human that will never change. You fight the vampires and the demons to end the evil for him. The watchers are human they care for humans, they are only copying what God created,” stated Vizarnia.
“I do not understand why you wanted the slayer to be here,” said Giles. It was then that Buffy saw what was. “Giles, I don’t think it is me,” she faced Vizarnia, “you wanted Willow to be here, not me.”
“Me what could anyone want with me?” asked Willow.
“I knew your ancestors Willow, I saw her unborn child and I put a part of me in the unborn child, so that it could be passed down through the generations to you.”
“Are you sure it is in me?” asked Willow.
“Yes Willow I know it is still in you, a friend tried to find you and did, she said something caused the part of me in you to leak into the rest of you, here is where you have a choice. You help to fight the vampires, would you want to help destroy that which caused the vampires?” asked Vizarnia.
Willow looked to her neither Buffy nor Giles wanted her to accept.
“You wouldn’t want me, the evil got in me I nearly destroyed the world, I could have. I don’t know if I can control the evil in me,” said Willow. Vizarnia smiled to her. “You have only been taught by human. They do not understand what you are capable of but I see you are troubled. You said you nearly destroyed the world, you could have with ease but you would never do that. Your power is that of nature itself, the world is of nature so you could draw energy from the world but you would never destroy the world, you like me are one with the world and the evil didn’t get into you. Let me take the part of me in you, join me and I’ll leave a copy in you,” said Vizarnia.
Willow looked to Giles then Buffy, she stared at the floor. “The Scythe that spell I did to awaken the slayer in all those potentials.” Vizarnia looked to Aurora and smiled. “That will do it, that would have started it. It caused that fifth element in you to be, that element began to leak into you. Only a tiny amount leaked into you but it continued to leak. And now you are not a witch for a witch is a human belief. Now you are as I am, you have the ability to control. That which you tried to defeat, come with me and together we can try to find that being be he corporeal or non-corporeal. She who allowed the Scythe to fully awaken would you like to meet the Goddess you called to? I have met her, she is a guide to the army she, Vizarnia points to Buffy, the vast armies of God. Willow stood in front of Vizarnia. “I have already decided to follow you,” said Willow.

“I have much to teach you, you have much to learn but you will not follow. We will go side by side,” said Vizarnia, “But first.” Hearing knocking on the door everyone turned to the front door to see two people walk through the door.
“Buffy, these people are Kallis and Kallum.”
To Be Continued

Willow found herself walking to the brow of a hill with Vizarnia, she didn’t know how, she didn’t even ask how or why, but she knew to kneel. At Vizarnia’s order she looked across the field that lay in front of them to a remote farmhouse, one that sat at the base of several tall hills. As Willow espied the house she heard the grass being crushed behind her then she heard the people kneel on the ground next to her.
“Willow, of those who have traversed the land to be with us I’d like you to meet the vampires Cameron and Mackenzie, they were the first and now the last of one of God’s creations, they are vampires.” “How do you know that? Who was it that told you?” asked Willow.
“I was there not long afterwards and heard of the recriminations that their disappearance caused, it was partly because of them that I was created.”
Vizarnia looked at Willow and realised she didn’t know what was.
“It was like this Willow, God had created the birds and animals but some of them roamed onto other animal’s territories. The Angels were created to watch them, it was one of the Angels who was asked to control others like him who enjoyed his control and soon inflicted great punishment on those who did not adhere to Gods will. That Angel was caste out by God to care for those he killed. But while the animals and birds grew in number the Angels did not so God created the vampires to help the Angels. The Angel who had been caste out had his name be the Devil and his domain he called Hell. And the Devil he even thanked God as he liked being there, for a while. A new problem arose, so many animals and birds grew on the land that God had created. Soon the Devil had too many to watch over so he created himself a Son, the Son was to help him but so the Devil created him as a young man but the Son grew to hate his father and he hated God who had sent his father there. God also created the fish in the waters of the world. It is said he saw, without knowing, a small parcel of land. It was on that land that I was created. By God’s words I had control over all in the sea and all on the land. I had and I will have again control of the very elements of it all, the earth, the air, the water and the fire. I had control of everything his creations walked on or swam in. But it was the fifth element that was of God that gave those others the extreme of control, the element of Spirit.”

Kallum stepped forward towards Willow. “It was, and is the Devils Son who we seek, he and his many Legions were fought. After those initial battles the Son was caught and held in a prison created by God with two cells. The Son was imprisoned and in the other cell, one who we thought was evil, we thought that other fought with the Son, we now know that was wrong. Because she, Vizarnia, became friends with Gods vampires and together they led the armies of God to here, this is where the last Legions of the Sons vampires were fought. They lost. A few might still be in the ground, the human slayers can have them as there are now so many. Know this Willow, when the Son is found you will have the full support of all Gods forces.”
Willow allowed all he said to enter her mind, she mulled it about until. “If the son was held in Gods prison how did he escape?”
“Something that was unknown to us, a failure of ours, and it was thanks to Buffy and you that we learned of our mistake. It was thought that the Son was a corporeal but then we saw that it was it was thanks to you and Buffy that we learned he was non-corporeal. Problems began to materialize then some of those who lead us were not convinced all was as it was seen to be. It made us see that he was not as we thought or how you thought that he deceived us, that who we know as the Son is who you refer to the First, he is both corporeal and non-corporeal.

The prison was built in the time our side had him as a non-corporeal entity so when his corporeal body to enter the foyer.”
“What, to enter the foyer, that seems a bit lame, the entrance of a theatre?” asked Willow.
“That will be the meaning for the English, however if you look at the French meaning of the word it means a fireplace and that instance it becomes quite apt, the Son wants to be a home to the fires of hell?”
“The Son escaped from the prison because the corporeal self could make the door open, his corporeal and non-corporeal beings became as one,” said Kallum.

Willow returned her gaze to the farmhouse to see what was, thinking it looked just like another area she retained her gaze on it. Accepting what she thought she had seen she went there. When she did get there it was as though the land had changed. Where there was once a large body of water there was now land. Willow called Vizarnia to her side and waited. When Vizarnia appeared Willow told her of what was.
“About what is Willow we can see as we are, but now that our minds can be so much greater so allow your mind to be as great as you need or want it to be,” stated Vizarnia.
Willow looked into the empty space in front of her eyes, a day had passed before Willow’s body moved, she faced Vizarnia. “What was once a body of water did not become a body of land.”
“As I thought it might be, the Devil’s mind took physical form.” They walked towards a mound of land. “A silly human saying says the hills have eyes yet there are ears on the crops of wheat so speak to those ears,” stated Vizarnia.
Willow felt foolish as she stood in the field of wheat. She asked of that other.
“Why are you here?”

Willow looked to Vizarnia as she heard the voice but she showed no evidence of hearing anything. “From my feet to my head follow the line into the third valley beyond, there is a house of stone, in that house waits the protector demon for Death, I hope he can offer help.”
Willow told Vizarnia to walk with her. As they wandered over the hills and across the valleys Willow couldn’t resist the urge to ask Vizarnia if she knew who had spoken to her.
“It was spoken in a tiny whisper, if he spoke he would have deafened you are possibly the only person who is alive that the Devil has spoken to. And here we are about to be told what might help us find his Son from the protector of Death no less.”

Willow looked to Vizarnia, she played with the thoughts in her head, Willow wanted to know who that was but was unsure of the correct way to ask. “Your thoughts are too loud Willow, think of The Four Horsemen of The Apocalypse, they will appear for the final battle and the trumpeter will sound not as you imagine though, think of lightning that is so close it has a jagged edge to the sound of thunder, the blast of his trumpet will be as lightning that’ll stretch around the world. He will call to all in God’s army to be here there will be only one blast but so many echoes will be heard.”

Night had fallen before Willow and Vizarnia went into the stone house, Vizarnia announced who they were and waited while a darkened figure stepped from a painting on the wall. It gained in height as it neared them until it was the same as them. It pointed to a coloured window. “In the morning the sun will shine a ray of light to illuminate the floor, it always travels the journey regardless on the week of the year. A map will be on the stone but when the sun is right it will shine through two diamonds and where the Son likes to keep himself will be shown to you. I as Death’s protector demon tell you this in the hope that the world will not be the Son’s domain.” It disappeared he left us to do the work. Willow looked about the room but she didn’t know what it was that she was looking for.
“Vizarnia? What area could a map be seen on?” asked Willow.
“None that is here, otherwise anyone could have found it. No we need to move all the furniture the carpet and the curtain away from where the suns rays will shine on, together we should wash the walls and the floor. So that we will have a clean surface to see what needs to be seen,” said Vizarnia.

“Do we then go into battle against the Son?” asked Willow.
“No the armies of God do that bit,” replied Vizarnia.
“That is how it ends?” stated Willow.
Vizarnia could see that Willow wanted to do more, that she wanted to be a part of the battle.
“That is not how it works Willow, we find they do or would you want to take the place of another who seeks to be a part of the Sons end?” asked Vizarnia.

“Why did you seek the elements?” asked Willow.
Vizarnia grinned, she had held secret a view that one of the Devils pets now needed to be found and an end would need to find them. “With you at my side the Goddess will be pleased, I said of these days when I would do what needed to be done. I said to her that I was the ‘i’ in team.”
Willow disagreed. “There is no i in team,” stated Willow.
“I told the Goddess that there is an ‘i’ in team, the way I spell and say it; te-a-mi. That really pissed her off that did.”

To Be Continued

Willow waited while Vizarnia had a conference with the Devil. Although she wasn’t absolutely sure what it was for she thought Vizarnia sought a location of where to go to meet with the leaders of the Devil’s pets. She could only guess what they would discuss.
After what seemed like hours Willow saw Vizarnia come towards her. Willow stood and asked if they had a destination. Vizarnia grinned and replied that all they needed to do was wait for the three nights of the new moon to start.

David woke up, he looked out of the window at where the sun was in the sky, he saw it was getting close to the line of the horizon above the lake. David knew to expect a visit from two who had control, he thought it should have been the Devil but these two were being sent, he was told they would appear less imposing. Even so, David realised that the decisions he had put off making would need to be made. He got out of bed and put on the baggy clothes he’d put on the dresser earlier that day. Once he was dressed he looked at the shape of Alice in the bed and pulled the sheet from her face to wake her. “Come on sleepy head, time to get dressed, our visitors are here,” he went to the porch to wait for her to get up. When she did arrive he noticed she was wearing a little make up around her eyes.

They went to the shores of the lake to see the visitors who were sat on the bank with their feet dangling in the water. Vizarnia offered her hand to David, she wanted him to see she was willing to be a friend. David looked into Vizarnia’s eyes and accepted he lightly gripped her hand in his and they shook, he introduced Alice. Vizarnia introduced Willow as a friend and explained that Willow knew nothing of them, David looked to Willow. “She is right, all I know is that Vizarnia sought a meeting with the Devil to get permission to be here, to see you,” said Willow. Alice stepped to David and greeted the visitors, she held David’s hand gently stroking the back of his hand with her thumb. “If I understand right, what they are here for is not to condemn us, it is to help us reach a decision that is beneficial,” said Alice. David faced Alice, smiled then looked to Vizarnia. “I hadn’t thought of it like that, but I can see she is right, so welcome. Now we should go to meet the others.”

Going to an area where the grass had been flattened to the ground. Lazing there were Myra and Gavin, Bethany and Anders, Claire and Victor. David pointed towards the house Velvet will be here soon she is the pack leader. “I know she will be here soon, as you can see the time is getting close.” Alice indicated the sun as it had started pass over the horizon. Willow noticed that she and Vizarnia were being sheltered by them. Velvet walked passed the flattened grass without as much as a look and told them they should go to the next place. They quickly broke into a fast trot and passed from the field into the forest. They ran passed where a fire had been several times. Deeper into the forest Vizarnia told Willow to slow down, to keep them in sight but not to get any closer.

Willow was guided by Vizarnia to follow a well-trodden path through the forest. Willow could see where she meant as the forest floor was being lit by light from the full moon. Willow saw the tell-tale flickers of lights that were of a town. Vizarnia caused Willow to stop. “David wants us to wait here.” They hear a howl then the sound of people running on the undergrowth of the forest. “Come on, David just said it is okay to go to them now,” said Vizarnia. Willow became unsure what she was doing there, why either of them had gone there. They followed the path into a clearing that had a commanding view of the town. In the clearing David and Alice were sat against a tree, David waved them to approach and sit next to them.

“We will be here for several hours, the others will have gone to enjoy themselves.” Willow wanted to know what he meant but was unsure of the correct way to ask. She looked to each of them as they each began to grin. “What is it?” asked Willow.
Vizarnia patted Willow’s shoulders. “I think I have said this before, or that I wanted to say this before. Your thoughts can be very loud at times.”
David knelt in front of Willow. “Just in case you do not understand what will happen tonight, I will explain as much as I can. The others in the group are werewolves Alice and I have let them go to enjoy themselves and let off a bit of steam. Alice and I have watched over them so we know where they will go and what they will do.”

“Bethany and Anders will go to a stretch of road further along this range of hills, they will wait until a lone car comes along the road. They take it in turns to stand not far from the corner as a werewolf, they allow themselves to be caught in the beam from the headlights before they run off into the trees. They usually have a good laugh about that,” stated Alice.

“Myra and Gavin have taken to taking a midnight dip in the ocean together. They watch for groups of drunken teenagers on the beach, when it looks as though one of the teenagers is about to go skinny dipping Myra and Gavin morph into werewolves and swim near to them, shaking themselves dry on the beach then run back to where they took off their clothes,” said David

“Claire and Victor like to have a walk in the park, they pick a suitable couple and follow them out of the park and into a large car park. There they pretend to hunt and chase the people around the car park. Alice and I joined them once, we caused a massive disturbance that night. With Alice we became werewolves and smashed open the doors of the nightclub, loud enough to make the people turn and look. Then as werewolves we ran into the nightclub towards the rear door, we pretended to be being chased by the werewolves Claire and Victor. That caused a lot of people to rethink what they knew, werewolves chasing after people they knew from TV and films but werewolves chasing werewolves and ignoring people. That made them think for several days at least.”

“That Velvet though, she is the one that we will be getting rid of. Bethany and Anders will be asked to leave the pack but not like Velvet who has become a problem. She likes the kill,” said David. “He is right, even as we speak Velvet will be in a humans house, she thinks it is fun to taunt them. I have no intention to intervene as he has proved himself to be unsuitable for the right to have a human life. When she returns here and changes to a person I will kill her,” said Alice.

Willow stared at them. “I still don’t understand you seem okay with werewolves being seen yet you get upset when werewolves kill, I just don’t understand.” David looked to Vizarnia who shrugged to him, she apologized to him. “Sorry David I thought she knew.”
“Willow, the werewolves are here to keep mankind at bay they are to let themselves be seen. Certain humans are made to see them, on the roads or on the beach to let them know something might be out there. But Velvet has taken it too far, she enjoys killing without reason. Everyone in this pack is here for a maximum of five years, in that time Alice and I watch and see if they are the right material.”

“Bethany is, Velvet isn’t. Bethany and Anders will get told they are to move on and be leaders of a pack but Velvet will be killed by me, so if you do see her make sure I do,” said David. Willow directed him to look to the edge of the clearing, at Velvet who was coming towards them. David walked to her, telling her that he needed to talk to her. As she drew near David slammed his fist into her chest and ripped out her heart. “I have to tell you to fall down.”
When her dead body fell to the ground he picked her up and threw her body down the hill.

“To explain to you what Alice and I do may change your opinions and maybe some beliefs, you see Alice and I are not werewolves. We can appear as them if the need arises, I am what is known as the Incubus, Alice is the Succubus, we watch over the werewolves. We are the only ones who make new werewolves in fact we made two more last night that was fun. But that is another story,” said David. Alice looked to Vizarnia. “A story that needs to be told, the humans have weird and strange ideas. They often make up horror stories of us taking humans to be ours.” David laughed. “Which we do but not why or how the humans like to say what we do. We only take those who we see as right and to make them werewolf, all that each of us needs to do is kiss them. To put our saliva with theirs, ours is the demon seed.”

Willow faced Vizarnia, she looked into her eyes for a few minutes. “What happens now?” asked Willow. Vizarnia told her it was mostly over. “If you want to you can go back to your life as a friend of the slayer as there are several vampires still across the world. You have a lot more power than you had, a greater understanding of the living. You can tell the slayer that for every vampire she kills the end is in sight,” said Vizarnia.
