What do we know about the main characters family?

Buffy lives with her mother ,parents seperated, and Dawn shows up as a sister.
Willow has parents ,at least we know she has a mother,no brothers or sisters?
Xander lives in his parents? cellar, no siblings?
Faith were does she come from no family at all?
Cordelia talkes about parents,no brothers and sisters?
Oz well same story as Faith's.
Tara''s parents show up in one episode, no brothers or sisters?
Anya well okay thats nothing to worry about!!Being very very old and a kind of demon.
Riley unknown?

We know the story about Angel and Spike, killed their folks!
 
We know Oz has a cousin which suggests uncles and aunts

Edit:

Buffy - Mother, Father(left) and New Sister.
We also know that Buffy has a dead cousin, which suggests Uncle and/or Aunt.

Willow - We know of Mother and heard of Father.

Xander has quite the extended Family - see Hells Bells

Giles, unaware of Siblings and parental stuff.

Cordelia - Parents are all we know of.

Faith - Parents must exist but I can't recall much.

Oz - See my comment above

Tara has a Brother, Father and Cousin.

Anya - Well that not known

Riley, I would assume, has a largeish farming family in Iowa and we also know he has a Wife.

Angel had a sister, father and mother.

Spike had his dear old Mum.

Thats as much as I can recollect, I am pretty sure that I have missed some things or got a few details slightly wrong, so I await Lyri to correct it🙂

buffy does have an aunt-- aunt darlene. she was mentioned in episode 4.07, when her mother went up north for thanksgiving. i would assume there are some others relatives as well who were probably there...
 
ok, seeing as i was asked to participate, here's what i know...

Buffy: Mom Joyce, Dad Hank, Sister Dawn, cousin Celia, who died when Buffy was eight, Aunt Darlene.

Willow: Mom Shelia, Dad Ira, no brothers or sisters and i can't recall if anyaunts, uncles or cousins were mentioned.

Xander: Mom and Dad, Uncle Rory, Cousin Carol and Cousin Carol has a daughter, as far as i can recall. no brothers or sisters on Xander's side, but he does have a large number of cousins, aunts and uncles that turn up for his wedding.

Cordelia: Mom and Dad, Dad probably in jail for tax evasion. no brothers or sisters.

Oz: i assume he has parents somewhere, as he refers to them in 'Band Candy' he also has a Cousin called Jordy, who turned him into a werewolf, and an Aunt called Maureen and an Uncle called Ken.

Giles: Father was a Watcher as was his Grandmother. that's the only family i've ever heard him reference.

Faith: she has a Mom, i think she referred to her being a drunk. Father, no idea.

Tara: Mom died when she was 17, Dad, brother Donny, Cousin Beth.

Anya: really, who can guess? she did have a Boyfriend/husband called Olaf, who she turned into a troll.

Riley: when he talks about Iowa, he makes it sound like he has a big family, at least parents and some brothers/sisters.

Spike: Mother Anne. don't know about his father, but given that we are talking the eighteen hundreds here, it's possible that he died some years earlier.

Angel: Father, Mother, younger sister Kathy.

Gunn: Parents unknown, sister Alonna, Sired and killed by Gunn.

Wesley: Father Roger, also a Watcher, Mother somewhere, don't know about brothers and sisters.

Fred: Mom Trish, dad Roger (interesting!) and i'm assuming that she's an only child because of how her parents reacted to her disappearance.

Lorne: Mom in Pylea, and it's possilble that Numfar is his brother or cousin...or given what his mom looks like, might even be his sister. he did have another brother, but, apparently, they ate him.

Lindsey: we don't know if he was trying to make Angel feel bad, but he did say that his family were poor, and that six kids lived in one room and 'come flu season' it went down to four. he was seven years old when his house was repossessed and he went to Hastings.

Lilah: has a Mom somewhere, apparently living in a mental facility.


ok, i can't think of anymore people, but if you can, just let me know! 😀
 
umm the only other that i can think of is when buffy gets into college (s3 ep, i'm vague on the details as it's midnight) Joyce calls a relative to gloat - mentions something about other cousins i think as well if i remember rightly

...but it might be the same aunt darlene?
 
this is the ony quote from S3 that i can find. i think this is the one you're referring to, Lily:

she just mentions 'Family' nothing specific.

this is the quote from 'Pangs' when Buffy explains that Joyce is away for Thanksgiving:

With mom at Aunt Darlene's this year, I'm not getting a thanksgiving. Maybe it's just as well.

yeah, i knew buffy had a cousin, i was just pointing out that she also had an aunt, since you already covered the cousin thing...
 
ive always wondered about oz's family. they come up very little, especially compared to anyone elses. i think we dont even hear about them other than jordy turning him into a werewolf, and in 'band candy', and we never see them. do his parents know he's a werewolf? his aunt and uncle know jordy is. theres a lot to wonder about in this area.

also, doyle: wife/ex-wife was harry. had a human mother and a demon father, but i dont think we know anything about them besides this.

Its not Canon, but if you read 'Monsters Island' you get a very interesting look into Doyles family. It id definitely worth a read and takes place approximately season 2 Angel/6 Buffy but before episode 6.
