What actors would you want to see in SHIELD?

Hi there!

Well, a few cast members are already in, but who else would you want to see in Joss' new show? Of course, since it's a Whedon show it's likely to star a Whedon-regular (Clark Gregg aside) or hopefully more than one, but if you want, you can list non-Whedon actors as well.I also read that Amy Acker and Summer Glau have shown an interest in the show.

I would love to see Summer Glau and Adam Baldwin as SHIELD agents. They would totally kick ass. River and Jayne are my favorite Firefly characters, along with Mal.
What about you?

I could see a few of the Firefly actors on the shows. Summer Glau would be awesome, and having Adam Baldwin or Nathan Fillion, in any role, would be killer.

I'm not sure if he would work in the classic "secret agent" sense, but I'd love to see Michael Rosenbaum back on T.V. again. I could see him as a higher up or recently promoted analyst type.

James Marsters would be awesome. He's played a ton of different roles so I could see him on SHIELD.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister on Game of Thrones, is a great actor, and I could see him playing a top SHIELD agent.

James, Sarah, Summer and Eliza all seem to be free at the moment. Seeing any or all of them on a new series by Joss would be great. And I really think that Samuel L Jackson should make an occasional cameo appearance just to check up on things.

James would be great! But I can't really see him as an agent. More like a recurring villain or something. A few Spike references would great as well 🙂

At Austin Comic-con (I think it was) in early November, Eliza gave the weirdest "no comment" about SHIELD that I've ever heard. She acted like she'd never heard of the project and promised to tell the person asking the question if she knew anything, but the pretending not to know about it sounded so fake... I don't know, and I can't find the video for it right now.

Also, there's one more main part up for grabs right now:

Skye: A character described as "bubbly and goofy" but "also warm, edgy and witty." She's in her late 20s and can more than hold her own in any situation.

My first thought there was Summer, but I could see Eliza playing that as well (plus, I just want to see Eliza in more shows, so...) The other thing to keep in mind is that if this ends up being a long-running show with Joss's usual style, there will be characters added and removed from the show as it goes on, so...

...And of course, after I say all that, it becomes moot because Eliza signed on to a different show today. Figures that I have that kind of timing. So... Summer is still free, right?
