What age do you wish you were?

Though I'm not quite as old as Mr Burns was when he sung this, it sums up my feelings exactly.

Gee thats a hard one. First age that comes to mind is 17, just finished school, working, riding and partying - good times. Its been all downhill from 21.

I miss being 16, but honestly, I have 2 beautiful children now, and a handsome husband(who loves BtVS, and The Dark Tower series as much as I do!). I mean it would be nice to have less responsibility, but that's life and I'm used to it. I don't know if I could go back, if I would make the same decisions(barring knowledge of the present). I feel I did most things the right way the first time around.

I would never wish to be under 18 again. Never ever. I was very happy to turn 30. I'm 35 now, and I like my age. I would like to stop now, though!

I liked being 23 because it felt like a good age where I wasn't feeling like I was nearly through my early 20's and I wasn't on the beginning of being in my 20's. But I do enjoy being 24, I think once I'm 25 next year thats when I'll stop and be that age forever haha!

I'd like to be 21. Luckily, I have less than 4 months til I get my wish whoo! 😀 But I'm a weird person, I get excited about getting older. A lot of my friends often say they wish they were teenagers again, but I sure as hell don't. Being a teenager sucked. I look forward to the rest of my 20's, my 30's, and my 40's.

I wanna be 18 again. In that time between sixth form and uni. It seemed alot simpler then. But then again it's a bit more err... free I suppose now. Not that there's much difference in my age. I'll be 20 next month so I'm not far off 18, but last year seemed alot simpler anyway.

That and I don't wanna grow up...

passed by in a blur- the whole decade spent either pregnant or dealing with the sleeplessness of young children.

Blurry here. And blissful. I just made myself a thermos of tea. The tea came the other day, a surprise gift from a University friend who's now living pretty much as far from me as you can possibly come without settling down in the Antarctica, the thermos belonged to my late aunt and has heard her and me enjoying innumerable discussions, and the cup sits perfectly in my hand and has done so for many years now. The boys are both asleep, so is probably TheMan as he needs to get up awfully early. I'll pull out the books soon, need to read some basic physics to get ready for tomorrow. But right now I am having official MeTime, and as I poured tea from that old thermos into my mug, I could feel how the little coincidences brought me here. I am where I should be, and am as content as it is possible for me to be.

I was thinking about age a few days ago, as I was giggling my way home from a week at the Uni where I study part time. We were three students breaking down in giggling fits together - a man nearly ten years my junior, a woman nearly ten years my senior, and me. At that moment I felt so clearly how we always carry the children and adolescents we were with us. The I from then isn't gone - I've just found more of me.

I'll say as Taake did: "I want to be my age." Only I took rather a lot more space in saying so.

I turned 23 a few weeks ago which I over-analysed at the time, but I'm happy enough with it!Sometimes,I wish i was still 18 or 19 and still in college because I didn't appreciate those years at the time!
Sometimes when I'm worrying about what to do with the rest of my life and the uncertainty of it all, I wish i were in my 30s or 40s and settled down.
But overall,I do like being 23.

THIS.

I always say I would never relive my teenage years again, not for all the money in the world, but if I could go back knowing what I know now, I'd do it in a heart beat. There's a few mistakes I'd like to undo.

What is certain is that I would not want to be any younger than I'm already am.
Sometimes, I feel like I've grown up oddly: I kind of skipped the part where I love to drink and party and blackout (which is very popular amongst most people around my age I know). I'm quite mature, even tough I tend to look younger than I am. I have a baby face and sometimes baby reflexes (you know, like babies can laugh for anything? I'm sometimes like that. Poke me and I'll laugh like [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RP4abiHdQpc"]that[/ame]. For no reasons). So I act quite childishly at times, but I tend to think...like an older person.

So I don't really know what age I wish I'd be...I guess it would be the age people around me will be more ready to talk have discussion about psychology or sociology or feminism (thank god I have this board 😉 )

I always get told I seem older. I have an old soul.

I wish I were 17 again. Everything made so much sense then. I loved being 17... I would've dumped the person I had then, but other than that, I'd love to be 17 year old Jenn again.

I'd love to be 5 again. I miss the innocence. And having dreams and ambitions. I remember that was the age I learned to read. And back in elementary school, I was always the smartest one. These days...not so much. I'd like to be 5 again and right a lot of stupid things I did in the past 16 years.

The past months especially I've been having a lot of moments when I looked back and seriously asked myself what happened to the girl I used to be when I was little. I honestly cannot believe all the ways I changed, and I don't like it one bit.

I'd love to have my body back when I was 21 and the mind and knowledge that I have now 😀

Agreed kind of. I love the lifestyle I'm leading now in a lot of ways(great job, great house), but I wish I had the energy I had when I was 16-17, the slamming hot body I had when I was 17-18, the friends I had when I was 19-20.

Also the freedom. I wish I had the freedom again that I had at 18, I don't think I appreciated it as much as I would now after 3-4 years of working full time and paying bills and mortgages and land rates and private health care. Blah blah blah.

Before I turned 18 all I wanted was to be 18, from then on I've spent the past 5 years just wanting to stop the clocks, so I guess that's a sign that I'm pretty happy with my age as a whole and more worried about change then anything else.
