I was wondering: What other shows do you guys like/are you guys watching right now that are not Whedonverse related?

Right now, I am currently watching Weeds (I'm in S2) and I love it. Absolutely hilarious, great writing, and fabulous characters.

I'm also on Smallville S7. Not so great a show, but strangely entertaining. I started watching it only because JM was it...then I got hooked (embarassingly enough).

Weeds is fantastic. I adore that show.

The Big Bang Theory cracks me up; so does The New Adventures of Old Christine.

I've always been a fan of 24 and Lost.

Gotta love HIMYM too =]

LOST: For some reason, I like shows with really complicated mythologies that seperate them from anything else. LOST could potentially rank up with Buffy as my favorite show if it ends well. A poor ending that fails to answer some of the key questions (only the really important ones, I know there are some questions they'll never answer) will diminish it quite a bit in my eyes though.

24: Really good show for the most part, though season six was just awful. Doesn't even seem like it was done by the same creative team.

Other shows I watch but am less obsessed with include: Dollhouse, Scrubs, The Office, 30 Rock, Chuck, Heroes, King of the Hill.

Yeah I watch too much television. I'm unemployed right now!

Right'o, my dear friend. ;)
Gossip Girl: Contrary to what some people may think, it is far from superficial. It's a very real show, and it deals with a lot of issues. Okay, the main reason I watch is for Chuck and Blair, but come on, how can you not like a couple that has the quote "3 words. 8 letters. Say it, and I'm yours."? They're like classic Hollywood. He's the womanizing playboy and the nouveau riche kid who pays someone to take the SAT's for him and whose father doesn't love him and whose mother died giving birth to him. She's the bulimic girl who is prim and proper and is a part of the old and elite families of New York and who wants to get deflowered by her honest, loyal, and sometimes-cheating boyfriend Nate, who is in love with her best friend, Serena. They start out as plotting partners and he always assists her, and they become second best-friends. He deflowers her in the back of a limo, making that look like art, not the opposite. He brings out the wild side in her, and she brings out the best in him. She's the first girl that he's fallen for and has ever loved. (i.e. "So you said you loved her. That's uh. Well - I've never heard you say that before - about anyone."-Nate) They're both scared to confess their feelings for one another because of what it may really mean. Okay, I'm just rambling about all of the reasons why. There's a reason nearly all of the magazines last year called Blair/Chuck one of the best couples and a reason to watch the show. But needless to say, they are the best ship ever that and they make Gossip Girl the best show currently on television or ever.

Dollhouse
: Joss. Need I say more? This looks like it will be the best show by him yet.

I also like Mad Men, Nip / Tuck, True Blood, Veronica Mars, etc.

EDIT: Oh! Andrew Crosset's post reminded me! Legend of the Seeker! I keep up with that as well. 🙂

I suspected you might mention Gossip Girl.

KARMA!!!
"Leverage" and "Lost" are the only two shows besides "Dollhouse" I've been keeping up with. (Also "Legend of the Seeker," which is fairly mediocre, but I've stuck with it so far). I abandoned "Heroes" earlier this season.

Mostly these days I'm all about the DVD sets. I must have a dozen shows I'm watching or re-watching on DVD.

The ones I actively watch are How I Met Your Mother, Desperate Housewives, The L Word and DSDS (a German casting show, modelled after American/British Idol (well, whichever one was there first)). And since I watch these shows you could say I like them. Out of those my defintie favourite is How I Met Your Mother
Lately I've also been watching a lot more cartoon-y stuff. My roommates watch a lot of Southpark, so I've started to watch it with them. Before that, we were watching a lot of Futurama. When I'm alone and bored I sometimes watch the Simpsons. Though I kinda like these shows all to some degree, I wouldn't say they're my favourites, though.

Other shows I like (that are over though) include Charmed, Dirt, Star Trek Voyager and Friends.

I watch:

Heroes. Its only recently started getting me hooked again, but I want more power vs power fight ala X-Men.
Also, I have one question I want answering - the Cheerleader is a healer in that she always fixes what breaks, so does that mean she'll always be a virgin?

24. I love this show and even its worst season, 6, was rather enjoyable for me. Sometimes I don't care about plot, I just want people beaten up!

BSG. This is possibly joint 1st in my favourite TV Shows (with 24 and Doctor Who) because it just keeps getting better and better. I am also happy that I have a BSG fan friend in RL and we, along with another chap, are currently starting the show from the beginning.

Doctor Who. This is just an awesome show. I get the tingles of excitement whenever I know there is to be an episode and I follow the news religiously - I will lump Torchwood and Sarah Jane in this because they are ALL good.

Family Guy. Still has me wetting myself.

There are more, but I MAY post later.

Re:

True Blood, Bones, Family Guy, Robot Chicken...and thanks to my beautiful daughter...iCarly and Drake and Josh. Haha.

Well, I've already mentioned House as one of my non-JW faves...but I've got craploads of DVD box sets I'm working my way through.

Among them:

* Weeds...it's funny, yet sweet at the same time.
* Dexter-dark as hell, yet funny...and Michael C. Hall kicks butt as the title character.
* Torchwood
* Mad Men

There's so many I can't really do it justice...

Supernatural, Terminator, Smallville, and I've recently started watching Burn Notice. Other than those, and Dollhouse, of course, I mostly watch the Discovery and History channels.

Oooh, i watch,

-The Big Bang Theory - Shelden is so funny!
- the MIGHTY BOOSH!! - Love Vince Noir!
- Scrubs!
- 24
- Family Guy
- Dr Who - Especially with David Tennant in it 🙂
- And last but not least How I met Your Mother - I love Lily and Barney 😀

X-Files!!

Lost

24

Perfect Strangers (many of you are probably too young to remember it, it's an 80's comedy)

I
InsaneMystic
well of course I remember, don't be ridiculous! FILTHY DISGUSTING IMMORAL DUCKS!!! (sw)
Current shows that I watch when they airs (or since I live in Sweden as soon as I get hold of them)
- Dollhouse (of course 🙂)
- How I Met Your Mother (absolutely love it)
- Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (I'm not a huge fan but it's okay)
- True Blood (well, I did for season 1 anyway)

Current shows that I've seen and will buy the latest season on DVD as soon as possible.
- 24
- Lost (I would DL this one, but I can't stand to wait between episodes so I rather get the whole season so I can watch it non-stop)
- Battlestar Galactica

Old shows that I keep watching.
- Babylon 5
- Friends

At the moment I'm actually watching Tru Calling on DVD. It's good but not something I will watch over and over again.

I'm not really a shows-kind of person. I get bored ratehr quickly. Or I forget to watch some episodes and then I'm too lazy to catch up and just sort of forget about it. The only shows I do watch, besides Buffy, Angel and now Dollhouse, would be:
The Mighty Boosh
House
Doctor Who
The IT Crowd
QI (does that count as a show?)
and some cartoons (South Park, Family Guy, Futurama..)
Oh! And of course, Avatar: the Last Airbender

Shows I liked but just sort of stopped watching include, among others
Bones (I'm trying to start watching again, but I just sort of forget that all the time)
Heroes
Lost
Skins (since the end of the 2nd season)
Greek
and several detectives (from CSI to Frost)

But I do enjoy good comedy from time to time, and I regularly watch Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, the Graham Norton show, Nevermind the Buzzcocks, Mock the Week, Have I got news for you, the Dialy SHow (with Jon Stewart) and things like that.
