Hi, I'm the editor of the undergraduate academic journal devoted to the Whedonverses, Watcher Junior. We're doing a survey on what viewers think the values expressed by Angel the Series are. It's 44 multiple choice questions, but you can add comments if you like.

We're trying to do all of Whedon's works this summer to see if there's a common thread of shared values. We've done similar surveys for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Avengers, and Cabin in the Woods, with a survey on Firefly that's ongoing. The results have been fascinating already.

We publish a summary of the results next week, so you'll get to see the results quickly. We're also presenting the results at Slayage 5, the academic conference on the Whedonverses held by the Whedon Studies Association. Please do let me know if you have any questions!

Wow... theres a lot of values in Angel, but one consistent value is that the "good fight" and "road to redemption" are never over. you need to keep fighting. That is a value told through as i just stated, both the good fight and the road to redemption.

Angel sums it up perfectly: "In the greater scheme or the big picture, nothing we do matters. There's no grand plan, no big win. If there is no great glorious end to all this, if...nothing we do matters...then all that matters is what we do. 'Cause that's all there is. What we do, now, today. I fought for so long. For redemption, for a reward...finally just to beat the other guy, but...I never got it. All I wanna do is help. I wanna help because...I don't think people should suffer, as they do. Because, if there is no bigger meaning, then the smallest act of kindness...is the greatest thing in the world."

The results of the Angel survey are up on Watcher Junior's blog. Wednesday was what values aren't in Angel. Today's blog post is about what values are!

Thanks to everyone who participated!
