What Are You Reading During the Drought?

I've been reading some Jonah Hex. About halfway through the showcase of the black and white stuff. Haven't seen the movie (heard it was terrible) but I'm thankful for all the advertising introducing me to this character, because this book is pretty good!

Great bronze age fun!

Hex appears at the end of The Return of Bruce Wayne #3, and #4 comes out this month 🙂

I know! I heard. 😀 Given my reading list, though, I've got about 1600 books to read in between them (reading the dcu in "reading order"). The westerns are all the way at one end and anything happening now is at the other, haha

i'm a big ol' comic book geek.

which also sucks because prices on everything just went up. these days i try to budget myself to about 50 bucks worth of comics a month and a lot of titles ive been following have been retooled and changed around.

i'm currently following brightest day, thunderbolts, the doom patrol.

i'm about to start following birds of prey and possibly the legion of superheroes. on the marvel side avengers academy has potential.

i can't wait for the next lockjaw and the pet avengers special.

both wonder woman and titans are getting chances to once again get added to my monthly list but that can change in an issue or two.

i would love to be following teen titans, jla, jsa and all stars but im finding them all kinda bland right now. ill be popping in on these in a few issues to see how things are looking.

i'm dropping the boys.

I've actually started reading Angel:After the fall past #17 and big surprise here, I actually like it. I don't know why people hate it so much. I use to hate it because of what people said about it until I actually gave it a chance and starting reading it.

That's the problem. 🙁 We hear what others say and we judge according to their judgment instead of checking for ourselves.

I'm glad you read After the Fall and enjoyed it. 🙂 Enjoying something is far much better than hating it, consider yourself one of the lucky ones. 😉

I am catching up on my True Blood novels. I started reading them when they first came out. I got to the third one, Club Dead. I have been reading the next one. It is really good. 😀 I think it is because the new season of True Blood has been out that got me into them again. I should probably be reading Angel comics...but sadly I am not. It will go on the list though. 😀 😀

Well I just finished Cat's Claw and obviously can't finish the series until next year.
I'm currently readin Eat, Pray, Love and I just bought like 4 more books to add to my reading material.
However, I seem to always choose either really crappy titles or really good ones.
With my luck, the ones I ordered are probably crappy ha
[If anyone has any suggestions let me know please! I'm at work 12 hours a day and get BORED!!]

Sadly, I have not read any of the Angel comics 🙁

Since I stopped reading the Angel comics after After the Fall #17 I have decided to carry on with them. Going to get issues #18 to #33, the Angel: Only Human mini series, the Spike: The Devil you Know mini series, the Last Angel in Hell one-shot and the Lorne one-shot.
Should keep me going until September! (Also going to read the Riley one-shot in August.)
