Yeah, it's also the prequel to Da Vinci Code
Story by Robert Mckee (spelling?). Very interesting book and being a fan of writing it helps me improve my writing, or so I hope.
 
I'm reading the following:

The Italian - Anne Radcliffe
Middlemarch - George Elliott
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - J.K. Rowling
The Importance of Being Earnest - Oscar Wilde
McTeague - Frank Norris

I have a degree in English literature and I've been going back and re-reading alot of those books. Love em.
 
I just picked up the book "Sex and the City" last night. It's the book that was adapted into what has become one of my favorite TV shows ever to air.

It's so much different than the series in many ways, so it's kind of difficult to adapt to certain characters being different than you know them to be.

I read it a few years ago, I also had a really hard time with the book. I enjoyed Four Blondes by Candace much much more (though still didn't love it). I guess if you're a REAL fan of the show..the characters just can't be any other way. 😀
 
I really want to read "He's Just Not That Into You" based on the S5 episode, but I wanted to read the original book first.

Also, the HJNTIT book is more relevant for singles anyways...

Same here, I have almost picked it up a few times....if you get to it before I do you'll have to let me know how it is!
 
A few days ago we were unpacking some of our old boxes and I came across some old, musty books that my girfriend has....two of which were works from V.C. Andrews, Flowers In The Attic, and it's sequel Petals On The Wind. I finished the first and am currently reading number two. I had never read a V.C. Andrews book in my life, and I gotta tell ya, that lady's books has some pretty sick shyte in it.

From now on I'm sticking to Stephen King and Anne Rice. At least their work is a civilized form of "sick".
 
I can't read one book, I flip between different ones as I get bored easily. Some are for college and others for my own interests and just something to kill time. Currently i'm reading:

Textbooks:

The Problem of Crime
Forensic Science
Sports Law
Intellectual Property
Jurisprudence

Other Books:

The Silmarillion, Tolkien
If This Is A Man, Primo Levi ( based on his experience in a concentration camp)
Crime & Punishment, Dostoyevsky
Helter Skelter, regarding the Manson murders
The Stranger Beside Me, Ann Rule (the life of Ted Bundy)
Children Who Kill (non fiction)
UN Convention On The Rights Of The Child

Not a happy bunch I know, but most of the work I read relates to my line of work and interests.

We had to read this one for High School... a whole part of French students had to read it, that was 2 years ago and the past year.
I think with the rising of neo-nazism & anti-Semitism (here in France but I guess about the same happens in many country) society should have all student to read at least one book of this kind.

By Eric-Emmanuel Schimtt I've just finished Milarepa - Oscar and the Pink Lady - M Ibrahim and the Koran's flowers - which are all tiny book. Interesting. The best book he wrote remains the one about Hitler though :

I just read 'The Lovely Bones' it's a fantastic book. Hoping to read 'Lucky' next, by the same author.

My psychology tutor was talking about it, we didn't have to read it but she recommended it so I bought it.

Are you going to study it or you just read it? Did you read others of that kind? Because I heard there were, but I'm not too sure if it's necessary to read others or if once you read one, well, you know you don't need more because it's one same thing. I know Levi wrote some others, did you read any?

No we're not studying it, i'm just reading it on my own. Its two books in one, Levi's 'If This Is A Man' and the following book 'The Truce.' Which is his accounts of how he adjusted to life after the camp. My tutor did say there was another one written from the side of one of the general's but I can't remember what it was called. Its in my notes somewhere.
 
I'm supposed to read The Captain and the Enemy (Graham Greene), for English class. Haven't started yet but have to do so this weekend. Seems cool though. Only problem is I've already started reading lots of books and I never have time to finish them, hmm.
 
I'm currently re-reading the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series by Laurell K. Hamilton. Anita is a vampire executioner and animator (she raises zombies for a living) in a world where vampire, werewolves, etc. are real and accepted and legal. One review calls it 'an R-rated Buffy the Vampire Slayer'. The series starts with 'Guilty Pleasures' and each and every book is well-written and Anita's personal life makes Buffy's look like a piece of cake.
