What are you reading?

Started "Postmortem" by Patricia Cornwell yesterday, a good friend who is completely obsessed with the series lend it to me. So far it's pretty good and I can see myself enjoying 3-4 books before it gets a little repetitive.
 
I'm reading The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera. I'm about halfway through and I love it, it's a beautiful book.
 
I'm half way through Dune by Frank Herbert and FREAKING LOVE IT!! ....now don't spoil anything for me.
 
I'm just about to finish Little Women. It's such a lovely book, I've loved reading it.

I want to read lots of books next, but I have to get on with my books for uni, so it's The Secret Garden next. I'm doing a Children's Literature by the way. 😛

I want to read The Beach or Crime and Punishment though, but I can't. I bought The Time Traveller's Wife yesterday too, but they'll all have to wait!

I'm reading Dead as a Doornail by Charlaine Harris and like three other books, all of which escape my mind at the moment.

I've been reading to read something of hers, what are her books like?
I've moved on to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, finally. I'm such a slow reader. 😀

I agree, there are very strong autobiographical elements to it that aren't entirely made obvious by the cover. However, the book was always meant to be Melissa's story for her particular section of the fandom, it just got bigger than she'd ever anticipated. Having said that, I think it's a fantastic book that is essentially about fandom as a whole. I think it should be essential reading for all those people who seem to think fandom is nothing more than people wearing Vulcan ears and speaking in Klingon in chat rooms.


But I've been an Anelli/TLC/Pottercast fan for years, so I'm a little biased!

Anyway, just now I'm reading Dangerous Liasons. I love it. It's in the form of a series of letters sent between people of the French upper class in the 19th century. It's brilliant. The movie Cruel Intentions was a modern version, and it's surprisingly similar. I've always been a fan of Cruel Intentions, so it's impossible for me not to see SMG and Ryan Phillippe in the two main roles, but that (weirdly) makes it all the more fun to read.

Oh yeah, it's still a good book, just not what I was expecting.
Buffy the Vampire slayer "Child of the Hunt" by Christopher Golden and Nancy Holder.
 
à…sne Seierstad's "De krenkede", published in English as "Angel of Grozny: Orphans of a Forgotten War". It's a horribly painful read that brings the horrors of all the innocent people touched by war very, very close. I had to put it down last Saturday though, I was crying too much, so I've gone back to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince for some uplifting entertainment.
 
I'm finally almost finished with Hawkspar by Holly Lisle. It's been kind of slow going. The book isn't bad, but it isn't as good as Talyn (the first in this series), and I kind of bogged down. As soon as I'm done with this, I'm going to start Poppy Done to Death by Charlaine Harris.
 
I'm not reading anything at the minute, but I'm thinking of reading Goodfellas. Does anyone know if it's any good?
