Wow, I read The Yellow Wallpaper in my first year at uni. Did you like it?

Yep, it certainly was very interesting! The whole feminism aspect was what initially made me want to read it. Not that I'm particularly into that subject, it's just that my grandma told me a while ago that she used to work in journalism for the feminist cause. I enjoyed how it was written, the sharpness of description about the "creeping" ladies was pretty freaky! I loved how in each "chapter", or section, you could really sense the change in her writing. At the end where she "creeps" over her husband... it was so vivid yet reserved at the same time, which made it even more scary. I read it at around 3am because I couldn't sleep and ended up having to turn the main light on and wait until morning before I let myself fall asleep because I was scared I was going to have nightmares haha. It really got to me for some reason. I'd love to study it in more depth for A level or something, but right now we're stuck with Pride & Prejudice (not that I'm complaining, it's a very good book!). What did you think of it?

I enjoyed reading through some of this thread! There are so many books sitting on my bookshelf that I've bought over the years and haven't yet read. Seeing everyone's interest in books has made me want to read again 🙂. I used to be a complete and utter bookworm, getting through at least 2 books a week. I can't even remember why I stopped.

I miss reading! I keep thinking I am going to start a book but then I get more homework.
I even keep a book in my purse now so that whenever I get a chance, I will have one.
You know what? Screw school, I'm going to start one this week. I swear.
I am going crazy without reading lately.

I'm currently reading two books, 'American Gods' by Neil Gaiman and 'The End of Mr Y' by Scarlett Thomas. Both are amazing so far.

"The Sword Of Morning Star" by Richard Meade

(Warriors and Half-men at war in a time beyond the Worldfire!)

What's not to love about a hero who grew up in hell, has a grand wizard for a grandfather, a horse named Vengeance, two dogs named Death and Destruction, a sword named Rage, and a steel morning star for a right hand? He makes Conan look plumb warm and cuddly.

I just started The Time Travellers Wife, I wanted to see the film but want to read the book first. Not the other way round

Have just finished Deception Point by Dan Brown. Not as great as Angels and demons or The Da Vinci code but still a decent read. And it had a few twists I didn't see coming which I always like. Now I'm back to Harry Potter so on to Harry Potter and the goblet of fire.

Wuthering Heights, Absalom Absalom! (which I really don't like)--both of those I have to read for class. On my own time, I'm reading Deja Dead by Kathy Reichs and I really enjoy it so far. I stayed up reading it until about 10:30 last night when I should have been a) sleeping and b) if not sleeping, should have been reading WH. It's quite a different Temperance Brennan though, but I like the character just as well.

I'm reading "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" right now...
And the bad translation is really funny.

I just finished The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, and I absolutely loved it.

Now I'm reading:

Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho and Animal Farm, which is for school.

I'm reading The Last Unicorn. Such a beautiful story. It always gives me warm and fuzzy feelings.

OMG, 'The Last Unicorn' was my favorite movie when I was a kid! So sad...

I am currently reading 'The Crying of Lot 49' (a bizarre satire), 'The Story Of The Grail' (yes, the original legend) and 'Woody Allen on Woody Allen.'

I'm still reading "New Moon" can't get through it! Bella is such a boring character.
And I'm reading Notes On A Scandal for English class and I'm reading No and I

Joan the Vampire Slayer

The stuff Bella got up to in New Moon. I really can't stand her.
I've read them 100 times before, but I'm gonna read the Cirque du Freak series again. It's just sitting on my bookshelf doing nothing.

My boyfriend has me reading some of the Star Wars books since I haven't found anything to actually get into, so right now I'm reading Star Wars, Jedi Search!
